Default Please Identify my T-38 Prop Jet

Hi,

I want to know how many types of T-38 prop jets kits have been produced so far, i am asking this to find out who made my T-38 propjet that i just bought, its a kit but i have no idea who manufactured it and am curious to find out.

My T-38's specs:

Wingspan 55"
Foam core wing with flaps and ailrons
Air retracts mount and wheel wells.

Fuselage 61" from nose ring to dummy exhaust box.
Built up fuselage with fully functional flying stabs. Flying stab mechanisum is by Voilet jets....

No Canopy but i can see it being 2 seater since its longer in length then single seater would be compaired to drawings of real one.

Most of electronics are mounted in aft section of fuselage, with fuel tank in center of fuselage and nose retract mount right after firewall.

Airframe dosent weigh more then 3 Lbs without anything installed on it.

These are so far best i can describe my Jet....i will post pics in near future.

Thanks in advance.

Sammy

Default RE: Please Identify my CF-5/F-5 Prop Jet

There have been a bunch of F-5, T-38, F-20 kits out there.

Sounds like you might have one of the imported "big" F-5 kits that Hobby Lobby use to import. It was more like a big pattern ship. I cant recall the manufacturer off hand.

Other option if its built from a Kit would be the old RC Specialties kit - real nice plane - hard to come by these days. Scale apperance, need a real honkin .61 up in the nose... but flew well.

Lets see this Kit. It sound like you might have an 25 year old that was design by Bob Cambell . long lost kits.

Well guys i looked at it closely again todat and it more seems to T-28 then F-5 as i mentioned before, it has large engough cockpit section for 2 seater tendon pilots. Its a old that i know but whos kit is it that i want to find out, I am trying to fing good used Rossi 61 wiith tune pipe for this jet, as for canopy i think i have to make one as solid foam type and then glass it over.

If it has the big cockpit, its likely built from the Bob Campbell/ RC Specialties kit. Long out of production. Pretty rare to find one anymore. Good flying plane.

Yeah, it looks like you are going to have to make your own canopy. Perhaps ask around in the Scale and Scratch Built forums - maybe some of the older members have one of these kits laying around and might be able to pull a mold from a canopy for you
