Default Installing Rudders on Shrike 40???

I'm building a Shrike 40, not so much for speed but as a sport plane with landing gear and rudders. I've hinged the back part of the fins to make rudders. My question is what is the best way to hook up a single servo to operate both rudders and still steer the nose gear. I'd really like to keep the number of servos to a minimum because as they say, "lighter flies better".

If lighter flies better, maybe you should consider building a plane that already takes the weight of a landing gear into consideration.

Use 1 servo right in the middle of the upper deck. Put control horns on the inside and run pushrods out at an angle to the horns. I have used this set-up many times. Works great.

With a rudder, you can also snap and spin and, best of all, recover. After screwing around and getting my Diamond Dust in an inverted flat spin that went all the way to the ground, I swore I would never build another tailless plane without working rudders.

Be sure to post pictures on your Shrike with rudders.

DUHHH!!! Why didn't I think of that??? Thanks, Ed!

I'm a rather slow builder, so it'll be a while before I can post a pic, but picture in your mind a Shrike covered in a scheme similar to the USAF Thunderbirds' F16s...
