Do you hand launch it? If so, you need two people every time you fly?

Please clue me in...

cheers!

I usually have on guy chuck mine in the air. I run a TT46pro with a 9/7apc turning 17000rpm. It pulls right out of is hands. Only a couple running steps and a weak throw is good enough.
Elevator is really important here. There is no such thing as Dual rates.
*My elevator travel is almost straight up and I use every bit of it on landing. Put your receiver and battery as far back as possible. I made a dolly for it to launch off off but it was not working out to well. It is a neat plane but a total handful.
Whenever this thing "goes in. I am going to get a Diamond Dust.
I am confident enough to know I will get at least 140mph out of a simple 46pro.

Default Shrike 40 launch

I usually use a helper. It is hard to hold onto with gusty winds with one hand. With a strong engine and up trim the launch is very easy. I have a Shrike 40 launch video on my web site listed below.
Do what it takes to balance the Shrike per the plans so you wont have the same problems that everyone else has with landing. With the Batt pack in the very rear mine balanced with out extra weight. I never run out of elevator for landings.

Default thanks!

I appreciate the info from both of you...

I had hoped that it was possible to go it alone, but looks like I'll have to coerce one of my sons along...heh

Cheers!

I fly mine alone..
you just put in a little up trim,, hold the tX in left hand, plane in right, take a step or two and launch it level into the wind
OH grab the tx quickly,,, watch that you don't hit the down stick
and hope it climbs away form you,, and that no gust of wind hit it
from then on , hang on and enjoy the fun,
Oh and don't put alarge fuel tank in the plane unless your heart is good. ...!!!!!!
I have installed landing gear in mine , because the landings on ice, gravel or muddy tide flats can be hard on the aircraft
Its a rush
have to sit down after a flight though
good luck
Dan

I hand launch my own, just put some up in it, toss it about 10* up no problem.

I had a TT GP40 with a pipe and was getting out of sight verticals.

I put a K&B 45 Sportster in it, the only way you could improve this engine would be to make it out of iron, then at least you could use it for a boat anchor!

I have a Jett Q500 .40 I'm going to put in it when I finish all my Honey dos.

BTW I modified mine, it now has 3 tails with a movable rudder on the center. This is a fun fast flier, but it is really a great slow flying plane too.

Default totally cool

Thanks again! I am glad that hand launching is possible....

Although I am interested in the plane, I'm trying to get my kids interested.....We'll see how it goes...

Happy holidays!
