RE: New Megatech Mach Racer delta wing
I flew my Mach Racer's maiden this weekend. Hand launch, no problem. I have an evolution 46 with a maxx tuned pipe. 14,250 rpm with a 10x6 prop to start with. SUPER FAST!!!
I can't wait to change to a 9x8 prop. I wanted thrust over speed for it's first flight. Line up on final, cut the engine, keep the nose down, and flare at the last minute, easy landing. Use the recommended throws and roll rate is blinding.

Consider the time spent required by the wife VS laundry and cleaning time, and you will find you have more time to play without the involvment with wives. As they get older (60) plus its, honey it hirts to clean the house, cook, do the dishes etc. so you either become the maid, or spend your model money on outside help. If you get lonley, get a puppy, much better companion!

Hey Crazy4Flight,
I recognize that car (Corvette), I have a 98 that just blew apart it's engine. The timing chain broke and the pistons smashed the valves. This happened at 107,000 miles.

Cobra,
bummer on you vette, is it time to install a LS2? Or a LS7?
Bob
Hannah's ride is a '99 stored in the winters.
With the top down, I can get 2 whiplashes in the trunk. When I got to the club field with out my truck the guys thought I was just spectating. Little did they know...

Gawd, i wish i could afford the LS7 505 HP and a price tag of $14,000. But interestingly enough, a Procharger supercharger ($7000) can bring the LS1 up to 550 HP.

What would it cost to rebuild your LS-1? Or drop in a new LS-1? And then put a a 7,000 stuffer on top?
I just drive my Vette to work, for fun, and to fly whiplashes! I do not drag race, autocross ect.
The 345 ponies do me quite well and set the cruise at 75 and get 27.5MPG with the top down!
Once out on Woodward, YES THE Woodward from Detroit to Pontiac, I met a guy with a 98 coupe with Ligenfelter performance mods to 550HP Wow did it scoot. I had a Ride in a ZR-1 when a friend brought one home from the GM proving grounds a mere 405 back in 90-91(?) ....
and Masda commercials go Zoom-zOOm-zooM

RE: New Megatech Mach Racer delta wing
Hey. I have a os 46ax in mine. it the first fast plane I have tried. I have been flying 4 yrs I went from the trainer to 3d planes and never tied any thing fast. This plane is a blast to fly. I'v been flying it for 2 weeks and going faster each time I fly it. The only problem is the small fuel tank 8 min. go by fast. I just got a Norvel ax 40 to try in it.I'm hoping to not lose any speed and get a few more min. of air time. Any body know if there is a bigger tank I could put in it? Theres room for a longer tank but it would have to be longer but not higher. Jeff

RE: New Megatech Mach Racer delta wing
Guys, I was inspecting and organizing the parts to build my Mach Racer When I noticed The engine area looked off center. I mean the cut out for the motor mount and the hole in the firewall are offset to one side so far that the OS 46AX will not fit in the engine compartment .I am not sure the fuel tank will fit either. Has anyone else experienced this problem. Otherwise, the kit looks to be in great shape.
Thanks.

RE: New Megatech Mach Racer delta wing
I saw one fly a couple of weeks ago. Pretty fast, but my buddy was flying a 42% Dalton Aviation 260 and another guy was flying his Megatech Delta. All of a sudden the Dalton explodes. There was a mid air between the two. Never even saw the delta hit the 42% 260. The Dalton was destroyed which really sucked. Very nice plane. Never found the motor off the delta. The carb was implanted into the Dalton.

I am bumping this as a few Revvers have or "nearly" have these now...
Gentleman, do not be bashful- since these are SOO expensive I imagine many folks would like to hear more reviews and set-up's to determine if they want to "invest" in one of these birds...
Bueller?

RE: New Megatech Mach Racer delta wing
Hey i just bought my Mach racer and was wondering what you guys put in for servos. I was going to use standards but then wondered if they'd be enough. So should i use digitals or standards? Unfortunately the only engine i have for this is a Thunder tiger Pro 46 so it'a not going to be as fast as one with o lets say a Jett.

Are these open bay between the ribs or fully sheeted, I can't imagine you would want them too fast, especially with the covering many of the ARFs come with. I think the add says 120mph, are you taking it faster than this, or is the covering type up to the strain of an even higher speed?

Crash-D: Get a Tower Muffler for $15 bucks (If you don't already) and go with a 9x7APC
For servos I would use any standard servos but run a 6V pack, that'll get you 60 oz. for a 3003/or 148 or whatever--- The centering will not be perfect but for sport flying I don't see the value of putting Digi's in this thing...

Alrighty i think i'll put the digitals in. Their just 3151 but they should do.
Yes Razor i plan on getting a tower muffler very soon!!
I was also planning on getting a 9*8 apc for it too. I never have used the Thunder tiger for speed so im not sure what it can handle yet. A 9*7 or 9*8 should be ok.
I dont want to wait anymore!!![sm=drowning.gif]

Looks interesting. Since the demise of my Viper a while back I've been needing a cheapie speed plane for my TT 46 Pro. I may have found it.
