Default Who makes Rear Exaust .50 size engines?

Hey i'm right in the middle of rebuilding my magnum. Like the Covering job? its not done yet, but i'm thinking of running a tuned pipe through the center of the airplane (giving it a more streamlined apperance) I saw that someone had a jett .46 with tuned pipe for sale (with rear exaust) but i haven't really seen any other engines that have it. Help me out here, where can i look for one? I know Ducted fans have em, but thats not built to swing a 8*8 is it? Imagine how cool it would look with no huge bulky muffler hanging off the side. I will have to put the fuel tank up in the canopy area, but thats no big deal.

Go with the Jett (www.jettengineering.com). You want the Jett Fire series. I have a Jett Fire .50 in a Delta wing, with the tuned pipe swinging an 8x7.5 it is turning around 20,000 rpm. Awesome performance, Dubb makes a great motor. Very pricey but worth it.

I have a Jett FIRE 60LX on a Diamond Dust, the engine weighs the same and is the same size as the Jett .50, it turns a 8.8x9 APC propeller at 19,600 rpm and a 8.8x8.5 APC more than 20,000 rpm on a pipe that was purchased with the engine.

for me the best Value for my $$$ is a Dub Jett.
Yes the cost more but are Hand built to perfection! Here in the USA

Keep an eye on that auction site...ebarf.
there was a jett FIRE .40 NIB sold for ~~ $ 194.50 ( about $275 )

also look at the hangar sale at Jett Engineering
( you have to email request for current list)

Crazy:

Go to www.jettengineering.com and see their jett FIRE engine line for R.Eexhaust engines. Rossi also makes several models of rear exhaust engines, not in the Jett engine rank of high turning motors. Gonna need something to keep the het off the models balsa interior not to mention fuel tank. Think BVM may have some late materials that will do the job. When you find something good, let us know as I am up to something similar for this winters project with a 91 RE engine that will turn 22-24K (fan motor) Great project. To go quick, must retract all that dragging landing gear. ENJOY

Oh hey thats funny you noticed.... yeah i got that down there when i lived there for 2 yrs doing church service.... I miss Ogalos, meat pies, chicken salt.... love the place.

Yeah it seems like only the expensive engines have rear exaust.... I guess i could go for it and get one when i have some extra money. The thing is I like how the TT .46 pulls it just fine.... just wanted to make it look cooler.

I sure am glad i decided to rebuild it though... it wasn't that bad... i do hate covering, but its always a good feeling when its done.

If you want something cheap and are happy with a TT .46 performance, just go for an MVVS then. You can put it rear or side exaust before running in.
Here in Portugal an MVVS .40 Quickie costs just a little bit more than a TT .46 (more 10€)

ok so i looked around and and morrishobbies.com has a rossi 45r (rear exaust) engine for 180$ thats pretty good.... I also have a novarossi pipe that i used to run with a webra 50 that i think might go ok with it... Now the real question is should i go for it. can i use plywood to support the pipe inside the model? do i have to isolate it from the other components? (heat)
