Default Weston uk & Cool Power 15% ?

hi
some experience around with the weston uk 50v1 / magnum and cool power ?
i will use for the first brake in flights 5% cool power and mainly 15% cool power, i have 3 gallons of 15% left and one gallon of 5%
and it has to go through a carburator.

weston says 10% of there own brand fuel and i heard storrys about 15% max because compression ratio is to high.

I would say 20% max. But the West really doesn't need more than 10%... when you run castor that is... I've never tried coolpower, but I've ran Wildcat 15% heli fuel through it, and the engine performed better on 10% and castor as on the all synthetic 15% heli fuel...

Rudeboy...

thanks for your answer to

what is castor oil ? is that a base grade rafined oil or is that what we krauts call "Rizinus oil"
is the 50v1 engine like my old v8 chevy engine ?, they also don't like the syntetics !!

That's right, Michael....I wouldn't use straight synthetic, especially Cool Power.

I don't know why they call it "cool"....your engine will run really hot on that
stuff, especially when new. Castor bean oil is what almost all manufactures
recommend, most recommend a blend, mixing synthetic and the castor.

A lot of Guys run straight castor in the high performance and racing engines.
I used nothing but castor in my 2 stroke motorcycle racing engines. The castor
pulls heat out of the engine better, and protects the insides of the engine from
rust and corrosion.

That means your engine runs cooler, and lasts longer with castor in it. If I were
to mix up my own fuel and wanted to use some synthetic....I would probably
mix Klotz and castor 50/50 with a total of 20% oil, and 10-15% nitro, depending
on the compression of that particular engine.

Yes, castor oil = rizinus...

I run mostly all synthetic fuel (Aerosave homebrew and Wildcat helimix) in all my engines, but I noticed that for the high revving engines the oil is too "thick" and produces drag. This means good protection of course, but also less power. Castor becomes very thin when heated in the engine, so it produces less drag, which in turn means more power.
