Bobby:

Sorry, have not saved pennies enough yet. Noticed the 17-18K with 10 X 10 and fell in love with the thing at first sight. Neet it, want it, gonna sell dog, wife, house or whatever and get one of those things. Its a must have for when the Dude Brothers invade my turf next year. Am sure they are plotting revenge, although they took it easy on a poor defenseless old man. Can you imagine, a Jett 35 in a home made design keeping up with a Jett 50 in a F3d? And you guys thought I was all wet about the 35 being the best small engine ever!!!! kiss kiss kiss. Did not forget your picture request on the AC, notice the flooding here? Had water over the gutter! A little close. Bro 119

golly I am a slacker... I have had my 60LX FIRE for 2 months, I just got a Phoenix F-20 Tigershark delivered last week, JR ST125 digital servos 3 months ago, Rx and Xtal on the shelf.

Excuse building Canard-A-Roo for client and had it in the Toledo Show.

Tho I have not flown or run it I expect it to be a top performer, As the Rest of my JETT engines have been.

huey-pilot said this in another thread. It seems like I read a few things about this engine in this forum so you may try a search.

"I have a Jett FIRE 60LX on a Diamond Dust, the engine weighs the same and is the same size as the Jett .50, it turns a 8.8x9 APC propeller at 19,600 rpm and a 8.8x8.5 APC more than 20,000 rpm on a pipe that was purchased with the engine."

I have a standard Jet 60 F.I.R.E. that I modified. I raised the sleeve .075 for a .075 longer connecting rod, slotted the bottom of the piston and sleeve to open up the boost port, and raised the exhaust timing to 180 degrees. With a Macs 11cc standard pipe, and Wildcat 15% plus 4oz. racing caster oil it turns a APC 8.8-9.75 (cut down to 8" dia.) at 20400 RPM. This engine is in a modified D.D. that I will fly this coming tuesday.

Sounds like fun.

Ive not tried to clip a 8.8x9.75 yet. Dont have that prop on hand (we rarely use more that 9.25 for anything racing wise). Im going to have to go buy a couple and play with it.

(my Q-500 tach prop is an 8" clipped 8.8x9, and the QJ-40 turns that up around 21,000)

We usually like to setup and prop the regular 60LX engines to turn under 20,000

Keep us up to date on your progress

What's the RPM limit for a gray APC ? be careful trimming. I thought after 21,000 RPM you might want to think of CF

The D1 series pylon props are not a problem RPM wise..... such as the 8.8x9, 8.8x9.75 noted above. They have very heavy duty center hubs. They see 20-22K rpm on a regular basis.

Thnaks? I have done that numerous times but caught it before I hit the okay button. Much funnier to see it from somebody else.
