First, make sure the CG is correct, both fore and aft and side to side. I think 3/16" of travel up and 3/16" down is enough to fly the plane. You should have a lower amount dialed into the low rate switch, like 1/8" up and down. A .50 running full bore might be quite a hand full to launch with just one hand. I grip the plane with my left hand between the elevons, and just open my hand up. You want to launch directly into the wind, but a strong wind could over power your grip on the plane and blow it back in your face. This is when you got to consider having a helper launch, but helpers have a tendency to not be a lot of help if they don't understand what needs to be done. I think all things considered, get a helper and tell him to just hold the plane by each wing tip, and simply let it go at a 30 degree angle up. It will take off like a rocket with a tendency to pull to the left because of torque. Have fun!

One more thing, bring some toilet paper and a fresh pair of under pants before you do your first high rate rolls.

I have a tendency to poop myself sometimes anyways, my wife always packs underwear and shorts in my car. It is called a S__T KIT. (lol). Wish me luck and thanks for the info.
