Default Show us Your Field...!!!

I thought it would be a fun idea to see what kind of field everyone is flying from. Currently i fly in a field that is approximately 6-8 acres of Virgin Field (totally private). Myself and one other guy fly here... We have at the moment one runway from north - south and approx. 25'x250'. We plan on having a secondary runway from east to west for when the wind changes direction (HAHA LIKE THAT EVER HAPPENS EH!)

Go to www.earth.google.com and download the free software to look at the earths surface. Then enter the following co-ordinates to see the Sonora Desert Flyers field in Marana, AZ.

32 25 46.72N
111 09 30.54W

This is the Silent Electric Flyers of San Diego field near Sea World (that's Sea World Drive in the first pic). It's electric only and where we practice F5B and F5D a lot. My local gas field is the Fallbrook Flyers in North County.

This is Wabbit Area 51!

It's not as lush and green and beautiful as others but I have 1 mile of runway north, south, east and west to do my thing!

Great place to maiden anything! Even full scale!

Come on out June 10th-11th and have some fun.

This is my little part of the world.

This is the Google Earth co0ordinates, but we dont have anywhere near as good a coverage as the
US does. Only our airports & main cities have really clear photos???

Anyway 26 31 00.49S 153 03 19.16E

These show fine days & what can happen when it rains a bit.....

[link=http://www.georgiajets.org/index.html]Ga. Jets.[/link] The pics of the [link=http://www.georgiajets.org/Club_Info/Flying_Site/Aerial_Photos/aerial_photos.html]airfield[/link] are a bit outdated. The dirt area around the field is now nicely filled in with grass.

we have two fields to fly from and 90% of the time i fly off the smaller one which is the below pic, it's only got six 75x1500 feet runways and a center runway of 300x1500 feet but we manage to make the best out of what we have sorry the satellite doesn't offer a color options for the pic.

Hi KC,
I have to ask, but what else is your field used for, is it part of a military base? I've never seen markings like that before....

US Army Heliport. the white spots on the center runway are concrete, it's parking pads for refueling, keeps the JP-8 from deteriorating the asphalt.

kc

EDIT: below is the main club field, it's Hunt Stage-field, it's used for hot refueling of the OH-58Ds, the swirly looking part in the center is concrete, the center two runways as well as this concrete center are where we fly off of so as you can see there are no occasions we have to fly crosswind, we just move the flight-line in the corresponding direction.

i know Bob has flown here at our old helicopter fly-in we used to host. this year due to Hurricane Katrina our club will be hosting the Rally of Eagles at this field on September 9th & 10th and we'll also be having our annual 'Scale Fly-In' on November 4th if some of you guys/gals want to come on out.
