Default Phoenix or S.A F-20 for a .61 ??

Hi all,
Anyone flying a Sportsman Aviation or a Phoenix F-20 with a .61?? Any input on it? Did you have to add a lot of weight to the tail?
Which F-20 ARF is better made?
The Sportsman Aviation has a smaller wing span.
Also, which F-20 ARF would fit a .61 alittle better then the other without to much work?
Thanks.

I HAVE THE PHOENIX F-20

Not impressed with wood quality, F-2 cracked on first grass landing [:@]
gear mount in wing split where rod goes thru on 3dr landing.

Push rods require 45 degree angle bends then they become like springs
Had severe flutter in elevator and flutter in rudder too!

to fix flutter I went tot 4-40 rods... still have some flutter!

Power is a Jett .50 and pipe.

I have the SA F-20. You got some shoe horning to do to get the .61 in there. I used a .40 MVVS plenty O power! I did add about 3 oz to the tail with a 1650 Mah NiMh bat in the tail. Otherwise a decent bird.

I will be starting my Phoenix in a month or so. I am on winter project burn out right now. Going to install a G90 up front and a Jett pipe o it. The claim it to be a 40 size plane which is really not accurate. More like a 60-90 size plane. Along with a bunch of major modification. The plane has some healthy elevators on it. I am going to cut them down a bit to try an avoid the flutter and install some retracts.

Some guys in Austrailia a flying them and like them

Wow- If Vic was adding weight with the MVVS-40 then MAJOR mods must be in order to go G-90

Cyclic- Why not use something like a Rossi-60 or OPS or something??

Thanks for the info. guys.
I`m leaning towards the Sportsman Aviation F-20. I would like to stick my Rossi .65 with tune pipe in it.
Maybe if I change the eng. mount to a thinner adjustable mount, I might be able to squeeze the Rossi .65 in there.

Does the eng. mount come installed already on the Sportsman Aviation F-20 or do you have to drill the firewall yourself??
Hows the covering on the Sportsman Aviation F-20, any good??
Thanks.
