The best $75 I have spent in awhile...
I was on 'that auction site" and I found a Global Avance (Pattern ship) RTF with an OS-46FX, standard Futaba servos, switch, RX batt. retracts and retract servo etc. Pretty much turn key... The opening (and later, winning) bid was $75, pickup only about 30 minutes from me so I picked it up on the way to the field, plugged in my RX and flew it!
Flew on rails, retracts worked perfectly (pavement) and it was purty fast even with an unknown brand, unknown pitch chipped black nylon prop. (Graupner?)
My student had soloed last time out so today I took him up and had him doing downwind landing approaches , recovering from spins, recovering from inverted flight, and to finish it off I unplugged the buddy box dropped the cord on the ground and handed him the TX and walked off- I love that part...
He performed perfectly! Great day!

RE: The best $75 I have spent in awhile...
Sorry- The training was on the guys Nexstar...
Here is my $75 deal...
At the field I wanted to run the engine and maybe get her airborn so I used an RX that was missing about 1 foot of antenna, threw an RX pack in there- (there was already a pack in there but it was too low on voltage and I could not get it out of the tank area so... I added ANOTHER RX pack) The carb was frozen from sitting so I did what any responsibled modeler would do... I stuck a screwdriver in the cowl forced the throttle to wide open and just did a WOT start and let it go, The RX and RX pack just slapped around inside while I flew.and the flight would end in a deadstick that was uneventful...
Retracts worked perfectly! I am a bit of a bad influence eh?

Yup runs pretty good... For an OS-46FX No room for a tower muffler even with a spacer---
Maybe I will put the Rossi-53 on there and hack up the fuse, I mean it flies soo good I think I need to mess with it.

Hey, I am WAY too busy to build a kit...
This thing is a great little pattern ship but all I can think about is how to make it faster.... I am thinking 9x8 for starters-
I think the guy had like an 11x6 unknown prop. on there.... This will give me a chance to tach. the FX with a 9x8 and 12.25x 3.75 for my chart- I bet it is near the bottom of my list
The aileron servos are Futaba S128's I think or just S28's [X(]

ORIGINAL: Flyboy Dave
I already have a meat cutter....this APC.

But of course a APC meat cutter slices through Carne Asada much faster than a Master Airscrew meat cutter (just like it cuts through the air )
