Default Enforcer Finished

My latest addition is an Enforcer just completed. Here are some pics. I am starting out by using a .76 GMS but I am having a hard time finding the right size prop. It seems as though no one makes a 13x6 pusher. I ordered a 12x6 and hope this works well. Any feedback on where to get this size pusher would be helpful. Once I get used to its flight characteristics I plan on putting in a DF. Hey JoeFlyer I hope you don't mind that I kinda used one of your Enforcer color shemes.

It's funny, a guy was on here a month ago trying to figure out if the main LG leaned forwards or backwards, had plans showing both, yours are stright up and down.[&:]

It seems as though no one makes a 13x6 pusher. I ordered a 12x6 and hope this works well. Any feedback on where to get this size pusher would be helpful.

This plane has been around for quite a while and they are always impressive. I had one back in the late 80's. If I recall, (and I could be wrong - the memory is gettin' a little slower these days -- LOL ) I had a 14" pusher on her. In fact, I think I gad a 14" tri blade for a while, too.)

I'll look around and see if I can find anything .. - no promises though - that was more than a couple of weeks ago!

Does anyone know where to see a video of an Enforcer in the air? I can't seem to find one anywhere.

Looks good, Web. You'll enjoy the Enforcer. I have 115 flights on my DF and 135 flights on my Turbine Enforcer so far.

Ram 500, however after having periodic starting problems with it this season it finally blew (bearings, turbine wheel, shaft, etc.) and is not worth fixing. I now have an Artes Bee on it. It's an older 12lbs. version that I was planning on putting in my BVM Maverick.

It flew a bit better with the Ram. When I'm done converting the Maverick guess I'll need another engine.

OK Joe, seeing a turbine go must be a pain in the *****... Wasn't there any sign before it blew? Maybe the bearings making some noise or whatever ? I guess it fortunately happened in flight ... I saw a RAM with holes in its case, the blades had escaped [X(]... Which brand are you heading for now ?
And what do you think about installing a downrated Simjet 3000 on the Enforcer ? It's roughly the same wieght as the Simjet 2300 installed on the yellow 'monokote' Enforcer... I WANT to install a turbine on my Enforcer but I also have heavier requirements for the engine I have to buy so...

Strykaas,
It was giving me starting problems for a while. A few flights before it blew it was making a strange sound but then stopped. I was hoping to finish the season then send it in for service. Fortunately it happened on the ground during a take-off run.

The Enforcer really doesn't need any more than a 12-14# class engine. A friend has a P-70 on his and it's definitely overpowered. The perfect engine for this is probably an Artes Super Bee, small, light, and 14# of thrust.

I don't know how many more flights I'll get out of this airframe. I plan on finishing the season with the Bee then decide about another turbine. I'm leaning toward a Wren SS. It's the same size and weight as the Ram500 and puts out 18# of thrust. I'd detune it for the Enforcer and have more flexibility for future airframes.

Web,
Sorry for hijacking your thread. Good luck with your maiden.

No problem Joe, thanks for the video link Strykaas. Once I get used to the flight capabilities of this plane I want to put a ducted fan in it. Where can I find plans on the conversion?

The DF conversion plans are available from Flying Models Magazine. It is plan number CF939. Also I believe you can also order a copy of the construction article that appeared in their 08/1994 issue. http://www.flying-models.com/
Go to "Plans Directory" and search for "Enforcer". Click on the plan number to order.

Also do a RC Universe search in their Jets Forum for "Enforcer" and you will find lots of info about the DF conversion and some turbine conversions as well. Let me know if you have any questions.
