Yes it's a Shrike 10 for a .10 to .20 engine (.10 to .25). 35.5" inch wing.
But the Shrike 1/2 is 25" inch wing and is made for a speed 400 or .10 and less

This should be really fun!
good thing it is not the small one. the wing loading would be terrible.
I have been thinking about getting the 400 size and putting a mega 16/15/3 in it.

Can't wait to hear how it goes. By the way, do you have any plan to tape her ? I remember the Kawassaki Shrike, very cool vid ! I guess yours will have similar performance

RE: Shrike 10 on OS.32SX
WOW!!! It's a missile!
Sunday it was the training day at our field. Beginners have priority on the field. But I have a chance to fly it 3 times. The first take off was erratic. Not enough elevator and too much ailerons. I was able by chance to land (crash) it on the runway after a 30 seconds flight. It takes me a lot of concentration to make it back on the runway. I wasn't able to make it back; every input on the remote was making the plane roll on it self. Very tricky. I broke the prop and the spinner.
Go back on bench, remove 50% of ailerons throw, put 50% exponential, and 50% more elevator. Change the spinner, the prop, and go again... Amazing... I can control it now, try 2 or 3 high speed pass, need to trim it again, to much sensitive... but very controllable....
The third flight (the video one) was not to bad, still a little bit too much nervous, but I start to have fun. Remaining some trimming to do, to make it perfect, but I'm close.
With an APC 8X8, the plane do a 236 Km/h (141 Mph) after a medium dive and 216 km/h (129 Mph) on flat flight, not bad. The engine on ground run this prop at 17 300 rpm, in the air it unload a lot, the sound is too cool. Like I said, they were many beginners on the field. It was just too cool that day. Everyone was there and watching this little plane screaming in the sky.... . The only sound we can hear was my plane!
Now, I will try other prop, I can go with more pitch and less diameter, like a 7.5 X 9.
I pass the camera to a friend, he tries to film this little plane, but by chance he's a better pilot than a cameraman!!! We can hear it, but sometime we saw it!
Next time I will bring a better video.

RE: Shrike 10 on OS.32SX
Yep, I tune it on a test bench. But it was a very hot day with a high humidity factor. I stop cutting the header after blowing 4 glow plugs!
I need to tune it again. Too many factors have change. I use 25% nitro with 1 head shim, a medium/cold plug (Enya 5), an APC 8X8 prop. It runs a little rich, I can get 300 more RPM just by leanning it a bit without trouble.
I will try many props, until i make my choice, and re-tune the header.

Nexxa,
Holy crap, this is the fastest Shrike .10 I have seen, ever [X(]. Well congrats for coping with this beast [sm=thumbup.gif].So many thanks for taking the time to share this vid !
Landing is so fast, aren't you sure you have too forward a cg ?? You should be able to flare it much more
I think your reinforcments are pretty good, very high G turns were performed... take care, a friend of mine had his wings folded after the tenth flight or so...

RE: Shrike 10 on OS.32SX
I not the best guy here to give tips on building! I always do my kit on the heavy side. I always put to much wood, epoxy and CA. I learn to fly alone, after breaking plane over and over; I start to make it so strong they can! break anymore!
But, I think everybody will agree, put a carbon fiber tube in the wing. It will reinforce this weak part. Folding a wing in a high G turn is bad. You can put some 3/8†square balsa spare in the stab to give it some rigidity and laminate these rudders with 1/32 balsa, they are so thin and fragile. You can put back by a 1/4" or ½†the firewall; It will be easiest to balance the model. Me I put back the firewall by 1", it was too much.
Ailerons throw are very important, I only use 1/8†up and down ailerons. The fist flight it was set to ¼â€, and It was practically impossible to make it turn without making 2 rolls at the same time!
A good example of are strong are my plane. Check this small video.

For sure I make a good checkup after to see if something was broken. Just broke the prop and spinner. The first one, I take off full throttle. The engine thrust make the plane roll left a bit. On the second try, I try it half throttle, it was just not enough!!! I decide to kill the engine and try to land it before hitting somebody by trying to recover my bad take off.

RE: Shrike 10 on OS.32SX
Thanks all.
Yes, it was on maiden a little bit nove heavy. But the landing speed is due to my inexperience with this plane.
I made other flights with it and now I'm able to land it on the center of the field, not 3 miles away!
I will post an other video this week. Now I have some real good pictures to show.... just need time to edit it.

what header are you using on the engine
if it is a macs, is it the short or standard header
thanks

izzy - I'm using this:
The Header is a MAC Header # MAC2340 (.20 to .32)
The Tune pipe is a MAC Pipe # MAC1120 (.19 to .25)

RE: Shrike 10 on OS.32SX
thanks nexxa
by the way i read in the shrike club thread, that someone built a shrike 10 with os 32 , but reduced the height of the ribs throughout buy 1/8 each side to get a thinner wing and more speed
i am ordering my shrike 10 as we speak, this thread has made me drool
