Default Ashley II Q25?

Hey, has anybody seen this plane yet. I mean in person so you can give us an estimate or opinion of its structural strength.

Its from the same company that makes the LR-1 racer that WildhareRC imports.

Looks very low drag, high aspect wings, really like a Q40 but it is spec'ed for only a .25 (I'm sure we can stuff more into it....way more.)

I have emailed Tom at Wildhare to see if he has any plans to bring some of these into the States.

actually i think the jett 35 would work great winspan is 35.5 inches. the kange had a wingspan of 55 inches. just going off of that i would say that a 35 would be as big of an engine you could get in there

The wing span is 59 inches. The plane is just as strong as the LR-1. It flys about the same speed as the LR-1 but lands better and turns better. The Ashley II is one of the best flying 25 size race planes to come along in a long time. Not a lot of room for fuel tank and servos inside the body. A 6 oz. tank is max. Plane does not come with a firewall installed. A Webra 36 is just about all you can shoe horn in the small nose.

Well, if the price is similar to the LR-1, I'd like to set one up for electric power. I should be able to move the stuff I have in my electric LR-1 over to this. Sleeker airframe is easier to prop for since I've already burned out a Ph-80, an Aveox motor, and toasted 3 Lipos on the LR-1.

My LR-1 with the SJ-50 is still flying great so if this airframe is just as strong, I think it should be a bit better on the top end due to lower drag.

This can be close to a budget Q40 if done right.

MyWay, How did you get a hold of one of these planes?? Is there someone that's importing them to the US?

There were rumors of someone bringing those in over here floating around last spring. I never heard much more about it.

Webra 36, weston 36, Jett 35, ---- thing should haul . Id probably use the 7.4x7.8 QM prop just for fun.

Airbike. As far as I know they come direct from Thailand. That is how a friend had to obtain them. If I recall the price was reasonable but the shipping was not. BTW do not choose the blue and white colors as the plane will quickly become invisable.

Thailand? Seriously? I think you might need to write to the "King" to get one of these ARF's...

yep you are right it is 59 inches mest up on my caculations i used 42mm per inch instead of 24mm per inch, I cant always be right. I dont see why you couldnt stick a jett 50 in it. I plugged one in a f-3d.

Troy-RCU. Like I said, just as strong as the LR-1. Have not seen either the LR-1 or the Ashley II fail in flight.

Hey Dan!

If you decide to buy one of these things and swap out all your electronics from the LR-1, let me take your old plane off your hands for you!

I've got a homeless OPS 30 looking to do some breathing exercises!

I just spoke with someone at BVM models about this plane. Extreme composites list BVM as their U.S. distributor. BVM said that they do not currently import these. I told them about the 2 threads here in RCU. This one and the one on the kangke F3D.
Maybe BVM will see some opportunity to capitalize on our speed needs?

Maybe we can start a list of who will buy one of these if they import them.
OK I am number one on the list. (credit card in hand)
Who else is going to buy one of these?

I want one as well. Maybe if BVM will not step up we could make a group buy to save on shipping?

I already contacted BVM and talked to David. He said he would check out the thread here.
We need some more speed extremists if we are going to pull this off!

There's also a thread over on RCGroups under the high performance electric planes and there are several more people that want to get a hold of this plane.
