Default Possible alternatives for a YS 45

Hey folks,
Im trying to research some possible alternatives to the YS 45s for my pusher jets. Im not having any lucking finding any on ebay, so what others would be a good replacement. I want something that is reliable for most and easy to get running right. I need something I can run long fuel lines with since the tanks are so far from engine, maybe a fuel pumped engine. I have seen people talking about Rossi and Jett engines, but I dont know anything about them. Any info would be nice or even a location I could buy to YS 45s would be even better = )

Bean- EBAY ALWAYS has a YS-45 for sale it seems like... Were you the one who was building the CBM pusher jets?

The YS-45 is THEE way to go based on your criteria- others can be made to work but it'd be much harder than simply fidning a YS somewhere---

Finderbean:

A goodchoice would be the Jett 50 but you will have to add a pery or kline pump to get the pump action built into the YS. Oh, be prepaired for sticker shock, but they run great for years. Going into 3 years of club raceing a Jett 35, just keeps getting stronger. I have a YS rear exhaust in the cabinet if you get into trouble pm me.

Flyer95,

I don't see anything about YS 45s anywhere on Central Hobbies site. All I can find are the four stroke motors and parts for the four cycles.

What do you know that I'm not seeing? I pretty much thought that the only place to get two cycle YS motors was used or on eBay.

Thanks,

The YS-45 comes with no muffler or pipe (usually) the price for the engine if new and a header and pipe puts it close to the price of the Jett-50, and less power--- Only get the YS combo. if you need the pumper like Fenderbaen-

js3,
I called them and asked about YS45 and they had it in stock. So I ordered my YS45 from Central but I could still not find it on there webpage, dont know why? .
Forgotten to say it was a few years back, but hopefully they still stock the 45.

If I'm not mistaken the YS 45 has been discontinued so you may have to do some searching.

I know a friend of mine has a low time side exhaust 45 in his cub. The whole shhotin' match is for sale here on RCU. The engine is pristine...I know...I sold it to him.

Yeah central said they sold there last one about a year ago = )
Im calling YS today via centrals advice. Im looking for the combo version since with my combat model pusher jets im going to build have fuel tanks far away from the engines.
I had a thought about this, what if you put a small header tank right behind the engine would that work? Or would it empty faster than the main could resupply it? Just a thought

Oh yeah forgot to ask about a YS 60 and if it would be to much for the CBMs the specs say 45-60 size engines. I figure the large prop size may be an issue with ground contact. Just a thought since I have seen a few for sale here and there.

lowflyers- Welcome to RCU!

The YS-45 if run on a full pipe like a Macs 7.5CC or Ultrathrust muffler it will be MUCH more power than an OS or TT-46. In fact besides a Jett-50 or 60, the YS-45 is the most powerful sport engine in it's class
