I know , I was hard on them as well , but I have emialed them and really received some good info on the changes and customer servace ect .
I thinks its pricey based on the fact that you can get a ceremark that seems to have a proven track record , but the new design looks solid .
Price is about $349 with three oleos included , no retracts possible unless you decide to do a bash mod to the bottom.
V-mar addressed all the issues with the wood used in the past ect and the F4 reports are not bad , I guess I am worried that this plane has been out since June and I have not see one online build , one review , one at the field ect ect ect [X(]

I know that is my problem , the risk to benifit is way up at that price and wifey is looking for an xmas present for me , that mean early buy , leave in box until 12/25 so if there is a problem I wont know about it until santa arrives , and she may have a hard time returning it if it seems long from time of purchase .
I know so many problem lol [8D]
The pics online look good , I wish RCU or the rags mags would report on the plane , even just for the real pics , I want to know if finsihed weight come out as predicted or much heavier , also know that the F4 had desing problems with basic layout of the radio gear , no biggie but not well planed

My Phoenix F-20 was a gift. I never would have bought the plane. You have probably seen some pics here somewhere of me rebuilding the whole darn thing. Now everybody says it flys great but several have been lost due to certain "failures." So I am trying to take care of that as i change things.
I'm going to change the angle of the horizontal stab the way Flyboy Dave said to and I may even trim back the size of the elevators just to avoid flutter. I may ever make the whole fin solid with no rudder. Would be one less thing to worry about.
I got side tracked on this stuff. Been working as normal and messing with planes up until a few weeks back. Now I have a boat load of "honey doooos." I was hoping to have my F-20 done by Jan but that might be pushing it. I'm going to knock out that little extra over the next couple weeks.

This Phoenix I have is sort of being slapped together- meaning, I'm not buying much for it. just using stuff I have on the shelves. I bought Spring airs for something which i don't even remember what and decent servos and such laying around. I am going to experiment maybe with a G90 up front, prop it for some serious rpms and do one of those "hey! watch this" and see what happens.I have couple G90s in sport planes propped normally but for $120-what the heck. As long as it blows apart where i can deadstick on in.

Kmot , where did you get the pics ? certainly looks like a vmar especially up front .
I sent some pics of the vmar planes to the US contact for willshobbys . They are a large manufactuer in China making some half decent warbird ARfs and selling them for about $169 on average . Most have fiberglass fuse ect , they did respond , thanked me for the pics and said they would look into the potential market .

RE: V-Mar F18 Hornet -any takers yet ?
I saw the vmar f-18 in person at the local hobby shop. My first impresion when I saw it was wow. That was from about 20' I was thinking it was somewhere in the 199.00 price. When I got up close I was not sure I would pay 199.00 but said hey if the price is right I may give it a shot. When i was told it was 349.00 I said no way.... It is not worth that pricetag. at 199.00 I could have been convinced but even at that price it would have been a hard sell. for the price I am in complete agreement on the cermark f-16 !!!

If you wanna go fast, the gear simply MUST go up. How much lost? IMHO, around 20-30 mph depending on the airframe desgn. Thats way to much to give away. ENJOY

I actually heard good things about the mig and you can see it fly in that site that kmot listed , its some fun fly in vietnam of all places lol .
They fly about 3 migs at one time .
Rasor I know retracts are important -probably an aftermarket major bash , you do get 3 oleo struts but who feels like bashing a $349 plane plus shipping [:-]not me .

First of is the covering. from 20 feet away it looked great and really caught my eye. up close it was very rough and pitted like there was no sanding done to the airframe. Or sawdust caught under the covering. it was awefull up close. Again if this was a 200.00 arf I would overlook it but for 350.00 I expect more.
Second is the gear. No retracts (yuk) and it reminded me of the gear I made myself for the combat models f-16 (actually that was much better) It is made out of music wire and copper tubing ??? It looked half ass. Tolerable on a 200.00 plane but not on a 350.00 plane
The plane did seem very light but I could just not pony up the 350.00 when the cermark f-16 looks so much better and comes with retracts etc.
