YS45 on pipe
Guys,
I have a YS 45 (side exhaust) with a pipe and was wondering what would be a good prop for speed? Any recomendations?
This engine has a custom-made ceramic piston and liner made for me. Need to try it out.

Hi Bob,
It has been awhile. How are you doing? Still corn -husking?
You know what happened to the shrike. But I have been flying gassers lately. But got a Dago-Red that has not seen the light of day yet. Thought of giving the kit a spin. Mi was here a couple of months back. She is thinking of sending Eric over. You should come by for a visit.

Azhar- Dago eh? Nice choice
I am going to say 10x8 or if you have time shave down a 10x8 into a 9.5x8 APC- You may get away with a 9x9...
That YS is going to be AWESOME! Ceramic piston? Sounds killer to me- other than a Jett-50/60 the YS is the strongest sport alternative!
Keep us posted and get some pics loaded will ya?

Thanks Razor. I was thing a 9x9 or 10x8 too. Will let you know when I get it up. It has been pretty wet out here with no signs of letting up yet.

An APC 8X8 should give you good RPM and speed!

Well never used a YS 45 before but I know many people were using that engine and APC 8x8 prop in their Lyka jets without problems, I think they said 16,000rpm and 160mph.
