Default sonic 500 R.I.P

nice morning for flying, was the first flight of the day.. started by having my sonic 500 speed clocked.. got into the air everything was nice.. the 1st pass along the runway went smooth.. midway through the 2nd pass i was alittle higher roughly 25-30 ft. when the main wing decided to break loose and turn my sonic into a super sonic rocket... i did what any freak would do. held the throttle wide open and waited for the impact.. was pretty cool yet sucked pretty bad

....your Sonic lasted longer than my first one, a couple years ago.

I recovered it, and had a Rossi 45 in it, with a muffler I had extensively massaged. I was looking
for good things from my first Q-500 plane....

....it went about 200 feet total....and splattered. Ailerons reversed. [:@]

Big bad Jon....

sorry to hear that this nice one is gone

that was a big bad crash ?

i did what any freak would do. held the throttle wide open and waited for the impact
YEAR !! that sound is nice !!! lots of noise and 10's of a second later quiet still quietness

and the best is ,if you dont trash a 500$ plane go spent 100 at towerhobbys use the existing setup and go flying the next day

Gang:

Think I am getting the picture here. Re glue everything you can get to, glass the wing center section and start out with disposable equipment until she proves she can stay togeather out of a 1,000' dive and pull out? Sure as heck am not going to stuff my new 60 LX in the thing. Maby that older webra 35 or OS 25? Anyway, need to know if this thng is worth pulling out of the storage shed and putting togeather? Want a test and breakin bed for sone new engines where its not likely they will be running WFO. Better to drag out the old composit Q-500 that is a dog in the air, at least I know it will stay togeather? Pass some of your knowledge of thes things this way brothers. Your bro #119 ENJOY
