You would think that an airplane presented at a show would not have a wrinkle in the covering!

But it's an interesting concept and design.

With enough simulator time a self correcting trainer isn't necessary, might as well start a newbie out with a Diamond Dust then. This H9 F22 is clever, it would be interesting to fly it.

Guys, come on now! The $449 is MSRP and no one pays MSRP unless they are an idiot!

I went through my Horizon catalog comparing other products with an MSRP of $449. This plane will sell at a street price of $299.99

This plane is a steal for the beginner. Back in the late 70's early 80's a 40 size kit, motor and a 4ch black box Aero Sport radio would cost just as much.

Neat concept I guess. But in terms of going fast, even if you strip off all the accessories, it still looks boxy and relatively slow.

On a similar subject, has anyone here had experience with the P-51 trainer? I get asked about it now and again, and I'd like to be able to offer more than conjecture about it's abilities.

I saw one last weekend out at my field and it flew very well . It slowed way down for landing and he didn't have the landing gear air brakes on it. It did all the basic maneuvers with no problems. The landing gear is way far forward so it won't nose over on landing. I would recommend it to a new flyer. It does fly like a trainer.

I am known to be a little bit of a skeptic and if I didn't see all the other stuff for hangar 9 around it and the rest of the show in the background I would think it was a hoax. That being said I think it is a good idea for Hangar 9 to produce an aircraft that is more modern to increase public interest. In the day and age it is hard to get our youth to take an interest in more than video games. By producing these aircraft with a simulator and making them look cool yet they still can be functional and affordable, it may draw a few out of their comatose slumber in front of their computers (which is where I am right now of course ). I applaud H9 for thinking outside the box (literally).

I must say, that I'm having quite a problem swallowing this prop jet offering as
a "primary trainer". Things happen too fast as it is with a new pilot on a slow
high wing trainer. The "self righting" trainers like the East Two would still be my
way of starting out a new pilot.
