I would say if you got a hold of Mike, he might have one or two laying around. He was working on a .25 size for a while that really has my interest but it hasn't made the big show yet.
You interested in coming down to NC in late June?

Believe it or not...my family from NC is coming up here late June to celebrate the 4th and my Dad's 81st birthday. I sincerely appreciate the invitation though.
The .25 size SD would be awesome with a K/B 3.5cc FIRE!!!! I would definitely be "down wiff dat"!!
I still have Mike's email. I think I'll give him a shout. I'll let you know what his reply is.
I though Mike sold the rights to the SD to a place in Ontario??
I read that a couple guys have ordered kits but they never arrived.
Maybe I have the wrong info but I read something about it here on RCU of a couple guys getting "stiffed" on their orders from the new owner.
Not from Mike! Mike is a stand-up guy and I know he would not do anything illicit.
Not to change the subject but it would be great if RCU offered "spell check"!
Well...it would also be great if RCU just had their website functional 50% of the time.
Maybe I better be happy with just having the site the way it is??
HEY........my RCU "smileys" don't work! I'll switch to manual mode! :>)

Just talked to Mike C. and he did ( as you may well know ) sell his business a few years ago. He said he has nothing to sell or anything on the design board.
Reports that current ownership is...well....somewhat lacking in interest to keep things going?
Maybe we will hear from the current owner of "Mike's R/C" someday!!! Seems nuts to buy a design and then proceed to let it collect dust in the corner.

"Hi, my name is Glen, and I am a Speed Plane Addict.
I have been a Speed Addict all my life! As for Airplanes,
The need for SPEED has been about 4 years,
and with the help of the Revvers Brother-hood I hope to
make my planes even FASTER !!!
Don't let my wife see this....I promised her I
would "tame it down a bit". : ( heh heh heh, Which she knows is a lie )
Most of my airplanes are scratch built junk, but I have fun and they do haul!
"Fire Ball" is a gutter down spout foam wing with a Super Tiger .45 I have tinkered with it and the tack said 16,200 peak rpm's (it's the red-ish one)
'The Heat" is another gutter, with a corra plast wing with a red head ASP .91, But I have taken it off and put on a Black head Rossi .60
"Screamon Deamon III" is a Clark "Y" design wing, with a Husqvarna commercial weed eater (20,000+ rpms) Built out of broken coolers, spruce 2x4's and trash bags. Put together with a hot glue gun.
I do have a ultimate 40 biplane that I put a Black head rear exhaust Rossi .61
I do have a Katana that I donked in, but rebuilt using a gutter as the fuselage. It has a Tower Hobbies .61 (will get pix up later.)
And more airplanes, But the need for speed goes to the road too.... I have a 63 Ford Falcon Futura Sprint that has a 460 (700+ hp), C-6 tranny, 4 link rearend.

Vicman,
Well I Was out on bond from my dog house and working on a work detail here at the house putting in gardens. I was given limited access to the putter, but my bond was revoked due to something about a blue and white airplane being bought. I tried to explain that it was bought for her birthday along with the Jett .40! She did buy it! I even told her that I would put it together and test it out, Heck! I would even let her use all the other stuff that was needed for the plane. NOGO. I even chipped in and said that she could use my pitt box and I would be her pitt crew! Can you believe she STILL said no! Pinkel stink!
That RED headed blue eyed woman of mine is mean as a bag of cotton mouths, with ground yellow jackets wasp thrown in to boot! She has put me back in to solitary confinement in my dog house (my shop) with no visitors! Really?!? Come on! oh well it is calling for rain tomorrow, guess I will have to build something. Bummer
Thanks, "Locked down" Glen
P.S.
I might get a 6 hr pass for Sunday, she said. IF I go to a meeting so I can Discuss what I did. I'm thinking the support group at the field would be a great place. What do ya'll think?

Hey Vicman!
Here is a picture of a redhead for ya! I don't think the color of her eyes will matter to you!
She was at our flying field leaning on the flightline fence and I asked her what she was doing. She said she liked to watch the models flying but had lost her ride home so I volunteered to give her a ride home. She said she was tired from working all night and had a sore back.
Funny thing.....I completely forgot about my models sitting on the flightline and a buddy of mine had to take them home for me after I failed to come back for 6 hours.
She was very gratefull for the ride home even though it was 35 miles in the opposite direction from my house.
I didn't mind... I felt sorry for her having to work nights and with a sore back and all. Seems like she liked her job though and she said it was "skilled labor" but she never really told me what she did.
I guess the other 6 girls she lived with had bad backs too 'cause I could hear them moaning in the other rooms.

69,
No I have not flown it yet, it was toooo windy Sunday, but hopefully this Sunday.
Yes it is a 63 Ford Falcon Futura Sprint. It has a 4 link, axle trusted, 31 splined 9". C-6 w/stall. A 429/460 Super Cobra Jet.
Thanks, Glen

Sascha,
Some really nice looking airplanes there! I would say that you are without a doubt a certifiable "speed freak".
I am interested in your Prototype Scimitar - E, is it about the same size and weight of your other IC powered airframes?
As I understand it your limited to something like 2.6KW hrs as you upper limit of power for each flight. If you don't mind what type of motor do you use in that type of setup?
Regards
Paul

RE: Speed Freaks Wanted- Over 200 Members already !
the eletric version is the same like the IC version.
Only the cover ist modified.
The engine ist a turnigy T600 at 3+2YY at 6S, peak 210A on 7x10 APC. 29500 U/min
ESC is the 200a China thing with another heat think. (from a ATI graphics card)
so very cheap, but good to 370 - 380 km/h
but it is possible to get 10s into the plane
the limit in the eletric class (German speedcup) 42V ! thats it
the prototyp is the first version of all scimitar!cause it is easier for the first test flights with an eletric engine.
sry for my bad english

Sascha
Thanks so much for sharing info on your setup! Speeds of that type on that setup is really impressive. I love the modification of the ESC with a ATI graphics card ESC, it proves my idea that with adequate cooling you can really push the limits of an electric setup.
Good luck with your setup
Very impressive 230-240 mph with an electric!
And thanks again for the reply
Paul
Edit to add:
Sascha no need to apologize for you English you do very well.[8D]

RE: Speed Freaks Wanted- Over 200 Members already !
I have been flying for a while but none of my planes are very fast but am wanting to get one to get into this type of flying. I really would like some input for a plane to start with. I want to get something that will really go!!!!! Any input would really be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin
