For a warbird, its about your best choice for high speed. We have a local warbird race every year, and I use to fly the world mustang. It flew great at high speed as long as you don't set up with too much elevator throw. If you pull heavy elevator with a mustang, you can easily get it to snap. The last couple years I have been flying the Kyosho Spitfire with a Jett .50 which has been a lot of fun. I'm thinking of sticking the Jett .90 on it this year and see if it survives.

I've tried to answer your PM in everyway I can and it just won't go. Don't know what the problem is.
Are you interested in making an F-20 out of Coro or your interested in the F-20 ARC??If it's the coro stuff the only site I know of is spadtothebone.

It may not be as fast as my Patriot or F20 but it sure seems that way, as it is sooooo hard to see.
I still have the plane, but sold the Shuriken. I thought maybe I'd eventually try a Cyclon in it.

Yes, 11x8s and 11x7s. Why? Most people told me to run as many inches as the engine could pull. "inches equal speed" Why do you lot not agree? If smaller 9x8s will give more speed, please explain to me how[

Sure inches mean speed... but I think what they mean is that you are propping your engine rather heavily with an 11x8...
And if it is over propped it won't rev like it should, and if it doesn't rev like it should your loosing power, and if you're loosing power all those inches don't mean a thing...
So what rpm are you getting on the 11x8? You should prop your FX for something like 15000-16000 rpm.
The 8" pitch as probably a good place to start, so keep it for now, and work with the diameter of the prop to get the engine in the 15000rpm range.
If you start to loose speed when going smaller, this means you no longer have sufficient thrust from that smaller prop to pull you plane.
Once you have the determined the balance between thrust and rpm, you can fine tune the pitch of your prop choice.
What it comes down to is this: experiment a little! There probably is a lot more to be had from that plane. And yes, an 11x8 is more something you would put on a 60 size engine...

Thanks, that's the info i needed to know! I don't have means to check the rpms at the moment. What size prop would I be safer going with? forget speed and all at the moment, I mean a prop that won't blow my engine. A prop that will get the patriot in the air and fly it with good authority?

Well, I don't have a Patriot, but I think you should at least go down to a 10" prop... for starters... try something like a 10x6 or 10x7.
Don't worry about blowing your engine, it won't... not even if you get it to do 17000 or 18000 rpm (although that's not really recommended). It is more likely to get damaged by running the big 'ol 11x8, because that prop is too heavy and might cause overheating and that kind of nasty stuff.
If you want to go for all out speed, you will need something to measure rpm eventually... there's no way around it. You need to know rpm to find the right prop and you need it to set up your pipe.
Ask around in your club... there's bound to be someone there that has a tach to get you going.

Wouldn't that 46fx do good with a nine incher?? I'm running a nine/nine on my TT 46 Pro and its a screamer.Running a nine/nine on the MVVS 49 and a nine/nine on the Jet 50..All seem to do really well on a nine incher

....a good safe and sane prop is the APC 10-6. It will limit the RPM's
to 14K Max. Later, when you get used to the plane...you can go to
the 9 inchers....and drain out every last rev.
With an 11-8....you'd be lucky to see much over 12 grand.

I honestly think it will be quite a bit faster on a 10x6 than on an 11x8... because the engine will be running where it makes power... and I seriously doubt you'd get ANY .46 to turn an 11x8 at 12K
