RE: Speed Freaks Wanted
Bretheren,
I am currently looking to invest in the following aircraft
Direct Connection F-20
Patriot 40
F-5E
anyone out there in speed freak land willing to part with either kit or built models? Please advise.
I am currently working on a classic photo of myself paying hommage to the all speedy, all porting, god of rossi Chuck Auger from recent fun-fly and will post as soon as I have it in my possession.
Auger......B.T.W. I won that Saito 91sGK engine in the "stretch" drawing. That will allow me to now make the p-39 aircobra a piped speed monster!

Auger,
I came like a thief in the night
Why do you persist in generating these pavlovian responses from me...slobber....slobber...slobber first you tease me with the duellist (which I might have a line on one of the 2/60 kits)
Now the F20 and the Patriot.....you are such a tease Auger!!!

"Hi, my name is Race Ace and I am a Speed Plane Addict.
I have been a Lover of Speed Planes for 11 years,
and with the help of the Revvers Brotherhood I hope to
make my planes even FASTER !!!
Don't let my wife see this....I promised her I
would "tame it down a bit". : ( heh heh heh )

Hi Brothers
I built an unusual plane a few years ago, I called it "The Ultimate Warrior"...... it certainly was ! he he.
The delta wing section was no more than 1/4" balsa sheet, with 1/4" spruce spars to stop them "clapping", the Fus just cyanoed on top, and a launch grip underneath. the tail sections were all 3/16" Balsa & spruce stiffeners. It had a tight fitting OS 25 at the outset, and it was quick, but then I shoe-horned a 46 with 12 x 8 prop in, ................... wooohooo !!!!!! he he he.
The main problem was that it virtually disappeared head on - there isn't much to see, especially as it was silver ! It must have caught someones' attention because I was asked to draw up details and it appeared as a free plan in a UK mag ! .... Paid me too !
They didn't supply free Bike clips, though ! ha ha. I then went on to a Chris Foss Wot4 with a Super Tigre 90 & tuned pipe.... I'll leave that to your imagination !
By the way, the guy in the Phoo ain't me.... it's my ugly buddy.

Razor,
It's refreshing to know that you have "friends" in the universe like that.....my friends (Chuck Auger Specifically)...likes to watch me squirm as he touts of the record breaking birds in his hangar...[:@].
Really though, I have to give ol' Auger a hard time (God knows he gives me one) and I will keep a look out on the Universe for one.
Great looking bird!

RE: And look at this guy....
FATHER DAVE ..............& THE BROTHERHOOD,
Couldn't help but notice this pic of you (Flyboy Dave) and what appears to be a Dago Red Mustang. (Please Verify) If so I would like to tap into the collective that is our brotherhood for some advice. I have a World Model's Dago Red on order and am contemplating what would be the best powerplant for MAXIMUM SPEED!!!! Keep in mind I am at apporximately 3800 ft above sea level so overpowering is a minimum. However, I am conscious of the all critical power to weight ratio that is of the uttermost important. I have thought of the following possibilities:
YS 45 & Tuned pipe
Jett 50 w/ sport Jett Exhaust
OS 46 AX w/ Ultrathrust Muffler or better yet Tuned Pipe
Enya 50 CX w/ Tuned Pipe or Sport Jett Exhaust
Rossi 45 RE w/ Tuned Pipe
Or anything that I could possibly hack from Chuck Auger...( I know you are out there Chuckie..)
Most of my experience has been with Rossi, O.S., and YS with pretty decent results but I have noticed several of the brotherhood incorporate Jett engines in many of their birds. All replies are welcome in the name of achieving the ultimate goal...............Cardiac palpitations while witnessing flight performance beyond the limits of design!!

RE: Speed Freaks Wanted
The Jett-50 is NOTICEABLY more powerful than the other combos you mentioned---
Some folks get great speed by running a DF engine like an OS-77 or 91VRDF-

C.H....., sorry about the late post, been real busy.
I'm still breaking in my Dago with the .91 YS. I think the 1.10 YS would be
the best bet over the .45's and .60 two strokes. The Jett .90 would be a
sure winner, but is expensive and doesn't sound as cool as the YS 4-stroke.
Dave.

WOW!!! That's what I call a great combination. That's really a lot of engine for such a small bird! Not much room for anything else under the cowl. Just out of curiosity, is your Dago Red Kit, or ARF and who is the MFG. I'm just trying to get some perspective on relative size for my upcomming application.
No problem about the delay....I've been down to Dallas and over to Louisiana this past holiday weekend so not much time for the planes. Thanks for the response.
My current mustang ModelTech .60 sized P-51D w/ magnum 1.20 2stroke. it does "o.k."
I'll keep you posted on my decisions for the Dago.
