Well for me it means joining the wing halves together so they are more secure and less chance to fold up on me. Sort of like the idea of running a strip of tape down the bottom to hold the halves together but I use some fine cloth and expoxy resin and make about a inch or so wide strip.

Fiberglass cloth and thinned epoxy can be use to strengthen the center section of a wing or prepare a sheeted surface for better painting results. I have heard of some people using CA rather then epoxy with good results.

I glass the seams on every plane....ARF's and even trainers. You can buy the
fiberglass in rolls (strips) 1", 2" or whatever wide. I use thin CA to put down the
glass....sand it lightly, and use epoxy....applied by finger over the seam to give
a smoother, stronger seam.
On the inside of the wing....I just leave it as is. On the outside of the wing, I sand it
lightly again, and apply some trim sheet to give it the finished look. The trim sheet
overlaps the stock covering to seal the deal.
Not real fancy, not the greatest....but easy, and strong as anything.
