I'll do my best to get some pics this weekend. She's within just a few evenings of work to fly. I could rush it a little more, but around here the early spring is full of wind, and I won't put her up until it's dead calm.

If any of you guys went to the Perry show in March you would have seen her.

i love that philosophy, it's this time of year that I've got the flying field all to myself because everyone is scared of a little wind.

Hey Rudeboy, I had a slingshot that looked almost the same except there wasn't any pieces that big left.. I did manage to salvage the tail though..
Lee,

That is entirely possible, since I picked the design out of Bruce's gallery. If this trim was your design, I hope you don't mind that I "borrowed" it.

The new one I ordered will be painted like [link=http://www.bigbruceracing.com/images/aaa%20la%20valley%20slingshot.jpg]THIS[/link]... the URL appears to have your last name in it, so again, if this is your design I hope you don't mind. [8D]

The Slingshot flies absolutely fabulous. Very fast and rock solid tracking.

I think I see a few more in my future...

Here is a project for a GZ .061. This engine turns a 4.2x4 prop about 36,000 on 15% nitro. With higher timing and more nitro it can turn 42,000 with the same prop, but replacing tiny engine parts every other run gets old. The RTF weight of this plane will be less than 12 ozs and I believe there is over 24 ozs of thrust on tap.

Real nice combatpigg! Looks like a lot of head scratching went on during the build. Two comments, the control horns are on the bottom, can you put a small skeg/guard on, or remove any extra horn below the clevis for protection during landing? Are you going to seal the contol rod pass though so that the wing won't inflate and blow-up the ultra coat?

I bet that little thing will Haul A**, I hope it's bright and you've got good eyes!

FF, You bring up a point I had not considered, the wing getting pumped up through the slots. A couple of fairings would help with that. These 11 oz. planes when they land don't ever find dirt [unless you hit a mole hill], so the linkage on bottom will be OK. The main concern is heat transfer from the pipe to the radio compartment and also keeping the fuel cell padded so high frequency vibration doen't work pin holes into the fuel bladder. Even though this engine is running below what it can, the piston is still making 600 trips per second.

This is my latest home improvement project. It is a Wild Wiz 40. So far so good and really a quick build.

I will probably put a magnum 46 in it. I have a new one ready for something. Rick at Haslam Hobbies suggest a 32 SX being ideal. I also have a Magnum 52 that I am breaking in on a Dominator that I am going to put in a Diamond Dust. It will be here mid week. One of these days I am going to own a Jett.

I have no problem flying in wind with the right plane. I have been known to fly a Diamond Dust in winds of as much as 40 MPH. However, if you knew what a Westerner is you would know why I refuse to maiden it in any real wind. It's a 145" span cabin old timer. Rudder, elevator, throttle only. It's powered by a .91 FS and weighs about 8 lbs.

i know exactly what a Westerner is, it's a Elbert Weathers design and they fly like a dream. myself i fly anything and everything in the wind, flew my Cermark F-16 and 18oz Goldberg Chipmunk 400 park flier last weekend in the 20-25 knot winds and maidened an Eagle2 for a guy yesterday and took the F-16 and the Diamond Dust back out today. I'm sure the winds in Auburn have been about the same as here the past few weeks.

This quote was taken from the crash forum:

i personally dont know about yall but i like my stradegy, when i crash its either bad connection or shot down
yeah I've seen hundreds of folks like you, personally I'm man enough to say when i f'd up and have no shame in it, why people want to always find something to blame other then themselves when it's blatantly obvious to everyone but them is beyond me.

So what's your point? If you came here to trash the way others like to do this hobby, then you're in the wrong forum. I have a sneaky suspicion that the wind isn't the only reason why you have the field to yourself a lot. We all know that you're the rootenest, tootenest pilot that ever held a TX.....is it too much to ask of you to respect others who don't claim to be Gods' gift to model aviation or who don't do things your way?

Same goes here at this forum, I'll have faith that the wind will eventually purge what stinks here back to where it came.

Ah yes, it was a nice looking bird wasn't it.. Oh well, all good things come to an end.. When I ordered it I actually gave Bruce creative license on it.. Just told him the colors I wanted, the rest was all him..

Here's my latest racer.. Tried my hand at painting checkers.. It's not hard but pretty time consuming.. It still needs to be cleared but I'm waiting on the weather to warm up a little..

That is really a nice looking whiz, they are so easy to build and fun to fly they are hard to beat, good luck with it. Mine has a Norvel 25AME with a moose can flies great.

Combatpigg Thanks for saying exactly what I have been thinking sometime now.

Chuck, there's "one" in every crowd, isn't there?

I like the looks of that Slingshot, would like to make a 1/2A version for local club racing.

Thanks. This my first Delta. I'm hoping to break in on it ("break" maynot be to best choice of words). I have a Diamond Dust kit to start on next. Maybe this WW will get me somewhat ready for it.
