Novarossi 50
Anybody have any comments? Building a Patriot and have used Novarossi 21 marine motors for years. From reading this list, it seems as though everybody likes the Jett 50. I don't want to spend that much and I'm not too concerned with speed. I would like it to be fast, but if were only talking about 5-10 mph difference for an extra $100 with the Jett, I would rather go with the Novarossi or OS. What does everybody think?

I have never owned/ran a Novarossi but if it is similar to the brother "Rossi" it will be a sweet combo-
A search will be the best thing you can do, especially with the Patriot engine question-
Some popular choices for the Patriot:
Jett 50
YS-45
MVVS 49
K&B Screamin' 48
OS-50SX
Rossi 45
TT pro 46
These range from $75-$250 bucks, the TT pro 46 is about $80-MVVS/K&B/Rossi are all about $130- the YS and OS 50 are $175 (Approx.

Hi Fred,
I had a nova .50...on a super stick(flying break-in stand). They are good motors, 2.2 horse, but they are the heaviest .50 in their class. Mine was VERY, VERY tight, I had to bust the plug loose to get it started(hand flipping). I bought their header and pipe with it too, I do not believe a stock muffler is available. It really liked an 11x6 prop, they are really sharp, good looking engines too and not too much $$$ from planethobby.com. I also have a .21, they make a good engine but they all seem to have a very stout(heavy) case.

which pipe?
Airwurthy......I'm thinking about getting one of the .50's and am interested in which pipe you used. The long or short one? I'm assuming the long pipe would give more power, but I don't have any experience with them.

I bought the long pipe for it, figured I could always chop header to RRrr the prop I wanted to run. Little more difficult to lengthen the short pipe for a bigger prop.
