Default I-4-C Logger Tach.

Some of that great Tenn. weather made it to Jersey today..
Got three flights on the Whiplash using the I-4-c in the
air Logger Tack. I was testing the two piece unit. Microprocesser
and mag pick up in the Whiplash and hand held indicator
that plugs in after landing..
The on the ground RPM readings were within 100 RPM of
my hand held tach.
The after landings were repeatable for all three flights.
18,000 on the ground and 19,300 logged flying readings
using a 8.8 X 9.75 prop (APC)

Looks like I can start cutting on the Jettfire 50 pipe now.

Standby cause Garmin says my mini GPS strap on unit for the
Whiplash will be here this week..
That means max speed recorded every flight within 1 MPH.
Put your stop watches back in your pocket and save the Radar
Guns for the Fun flys... The electronics world is catching up
to us..

They don't have it on the web site yet but you can phone

The web site is www.i4cproducts.com
He has some neet goodies...

Does the unit record peak only or more data from the flight?

Michael:
The Logger Tach records the highest RPM reading you
make during one flight. You reset the tach by turning
off your receiver power.
There is an output on the microprosser that can feed
a small transmitter and give instant RPM readings back
to you on the ground if you want to spend that kind
of money.
I cut 1/2 inch off my Jetfire 50 pipe and my RPM readings
went to 18,600 on the ground to 20,100 on the air.
This weekend I'm going to try it with another 1/4 inch
cut off.
Have a super day..

Default Thank You Syd

Hey Syd,

Just wanted to thank you for testing our new V-Tach/40 version that goes to 40,000 rpm. Winter is usually testing time for our company because we get little chance during the flying season as we attend shows and events across America. The winter weather this year was tough on any kind of testing. That why we picked a die-hard like yourself to get the job done. We currently are making the first production run of this model (partially thanks to your testing) and should have some for sale online in two weeks. Also should have some at Toledo show. We now have instock the V-Tach/20 version which goes to 20,000 rpm which will cover most model aircraft engines. Instock now also is the V-Tach/heli version which reads 20 to 2000 rpm. Can be read in hover at 10-15'. All of the V-Tachs are microprocessor based and use Hall Effect sensor for accuracy and durability. Each unit is also a voltmeter automatically when the engine is not running. As soon as 20 rpm is reached, the unit automatically starts reading live RPM. All versions display the peak in flight RPM after the engine is stopped. RPM is held in memory until the receiver is switched off. All weigh 1 1/2 oz. and require no additional switches. See them here http://www.i4cproducts.com/v-tach.htm
Thanks again Syd, you de man!!

Cobra:
Just tell Rod at I-4-C Products what you are going to
use it for and he will see you get the correct RPM readout.
Just like Dub Jett, tell him what plane your going to put
a Jet Fire 50 on and he will set it up with header and pipe
cut a little long and run 8 oz. of fuel through it so it will
start without any hassle.
