Default Byro Enforcer

Alright, the new Byro Enforcer is almost ready to fly. I just need to switch out the pipe for the smaller weston tuned mini pipe. Need to order it. I installed it on the plane just for the pic. Does anyone know where to get the mini tuned pipe? I keep calling ironbay models but no one ever answers the phone or the emails I sent.

Ooooooooooooooh, I like it. FYI, Jett Engineering makes a system just for plushers that by word works just like their normal pipe. Wonder how it would go if you added a Jett 60 to the front? Let us know how the bird does, or we will bug you bad!!!!!!!!!!!! ENJOY

Did you thin out the airfoil, if not it wont be that fast. The enforcer has a very thick wing thats why its so stable coming in a 10mph

Stupid question, but how do you start the motor?
I have never messed with a fan setup before?

Can't wait to see a video webtech.

Fat wing sure, but they byron fan unit can push draggy 14+lb scale jet to speeds over 120mph, this byron enforce should hit at least 150, maybe more, that fan unit is pushing over 20K rpm. Sure it's not going to break any records but it will be very impressive at the average flying field, and still be able to land slowly.

Starting is usually accomplished on a DF by using a starting wand, which is basically a rod with a 1way bearing in it that has a cone on one end for a standard electric starter and a hex or socket adapter on the other end, that hooks to the engine.

All I can say is WOW! This plane really moves! I was having difficulty starting the engine after running in 2 tanks for breakin. Thanks to the knowledge of JoeFlyer she has had 4 very successful flights. Each time leaning out the engine a little, boy does she really move now! This is one of those planes that really grab the attention of the crowd, and is very easy to fly. I am going to try to video a flight today.

Boy that plane looks great.I have a kit down in the room I opened it 3 times to start building it and then closed it 3 times way to much wood in the kit, I hate building, but after looking at yours I might have to try a 4th time.

Ok, here is the latest pic with the weston tuned pipe installed. Sorry, no video yet. No one has been at the airfield lately due to windy conditions to film while I fly. Guess I am the only one crazy enough to do so. I will get one up there soon. If you notice, now I have a tinted canopy. I ruined the original by spilling solvent on it and couldn't salvage it, so I noticed that the Raptor heli canopy is similar and just cut it out to shape. Whattya all think?

Hi Webtech,

I like your Enforcer scheme, very nice finishing. I have completed mine about 2 months ago but don't really have time to test the engine (bought 2nd-hand) and maiden the plane. Therefore, really looking forward for your maiden and video. It will definitely give me a good feel on how fast this plane can travel. Attached is the pictures of the plane and its pilot. Btw, where do you get your weston tuned pipe and how much is it cost ? Cheers.

Hi fullmoon_sg,
JD enterprise is the company that sells the Weston mini pipes, Dennis the owner provides great service. The website is [link]http://www.jdenterprise.net[/link]
The pipe cost around 145. The pipe you have on yours will do fine since you have the exhaust feeding back into the fan. What type of pipe is that?
This plane is really easy to fly. Just make sure you get her up nice and high for trim out. My experience with these planes is that it usually likes to dip in turns and landings. Bringin in for landing is a breeze. It lands like a trainer. Nice and slow. With such a large wing area it floats in and makes you look like a great pilot. My plane has an OS77DF. Not uncontrollably fast, but fast enough.

Hi Webtech,

Thanks for the flying tips. I've installed an OS 90DF with Byron Tune-pipe. I'm not sure whether is there a different if the exhaust is feedback into the fan or should point it away from the fan. Will try it out and see how it goes. Really appreciate it if you could show me a video of this plane as I can't seem to find it on the internet. Cheers.

fullmoon,
I have a video of me flying the Enforcer prop version. Flies the same as the ducted fan version just not as fast. Here is the link.
[link]http://youtube.com/watch?v=seJcOo0Rjfw[/link]
The OS90 will really zip through the sky. Take it easy on her for a while. Make sure your elevator is really secure, Don't go into steep dives at full speed.
I will try to video the DF version this weekend.

Nice video. I used to fly this plane and I like the sound when fly past. However, my friends will always complaint that it was noisy. I have installed two HS-85MG for my elevator and kind of regretted. Therefore, I wouldn't be doing flying speed dive as the servos might not hold. Now, really looking forward for your video. Thanks in advance.

Looks good, i prefer the eforcer with a saito 100 and a three blade prop. Its not to fast (about 100) but it has unlimeted verticle and sounds unbelivbal with a straight pipe!
