I am using the AXI 28/20/08 motor which is rated for 1500 rpm's,, and the 9x7 apc prop with the 70 amp controller, i was using the 3300 mah extreme thunder power battery . but it seems like it gets hot after about 5 miniutes , so i bought the 3850 mah 3 cell extreme,,, not sure how it"s going to go i haven't tryed it yet,, ... .............. the horizontal stab i was referring to was like the rudder in the picks you see.... the sun is shining through the rudder,,, i like solid horizontal stabs , not covered sticks..any ways here are the picks.

Well i finally took the F-16 out for a maiden, everything went well, it seems a little tail heavy so i had to put some weight at the front., but it flys great, landings were sweet, not even a hint of a tip stall,, just floats forever.. now it's time to make this thing a HOT ROD!!

I have seen all of the posts about the nitro models f-16 and I am excited. My plane is on its way as we speak. Hey hummingbird111, I have some questions for you if you dont mind!? What size prop are you using now? Does the prop strike the ground if you take off at too steep of an angle? How about on landings if you come in with the nose high and hit on the back wheels? what battery and amp speed control are you using now? Thanks for your help! I was getting scared that I should have just bought an EDF but seeing this thread makes me a little happier! How about retracts? Thanks for your help!

I just finished my F16 Nitro. Setup: 5s 2p 4500mah, 35/48 1100kv, 9x7. This setup has about 6 lbs thrust, 38amps draw so this plane will go vertical. I have not flown yet but will soon. Check it out. Matto..

9 inch prop is about as close as your gonna get without striking the ground, mabey a 10, ------nice work Mattosan1 the 9x7 apc was what i used also, it worked good on the axi i had but i only had a 3s 3500 mah thunder power bat to run it, and the batt got hot after 4 min of flight on a 40 amp controller. let us know how it goes.-- i had to make room for all my glow planes, and sadly this F-16 was one of the sacrifices that went to the LHS,[]

[8D]hummingbird111, I made a error in my description of the motor, this is the data for the actual motor I am using for this f16 nitro. I am running 5s cells so I am a little over powered but I am using a 9x7 prop so it pulls about 38A (max efficient for this motor) should be ok.. Should fly like a rockettttt... Matto

Model: TR42-50A
Max efficiency :38A
Max Load : 43A
Kv : 700
Power: 720W
Weight : 195gr
Pull/Thrust : 900~2100gr
Prop size: 11x5.5 or 12x8
Voltage Range: 9~15v
No Load Current : 3.4A
Shaft: 5mm
Resistance: 0.0327ohms
Max Efficiency: 82%
Power equivalent : .30 to .40 glow engine

Manufacturer recommends 11 x 5.5 or 12 x 8 props.
Ideal for planes up to 5lbs (1~21.kg) in weight.
Mount holes are 25mm apart and take 3mm screws.
Similar to E-flight Power 32
