Default Lightest device to record speed?

Hey all,

I am working on a project and need a way to check speeds on a small airplane I am tuning on. What is available that can record max speed and hopefully isnt too heavy?

Thanks in advance

Stopwatch?

That or take an audio recording for the doppler software.

Search in this thread group for the "How Fast" device... It's about as small and accurate as you can get on board an RC plane.
