Default Prop for Wonder?

Hello everyone,

I built a new Sig Wonder last weekend and flew it today. This is the third one I have built. This one has a O.S. 25 FX and it flew a little faster than the one that had on older .25 FP. I have a 9x6 prop on it because the local hobby shop had a limited selection of smaller props. I know it has a lot more speed in it if I had the right prop. What size would be best for a .25 FX on a Wonder with speed, of course, in mind?

How much does it weigh? Maybe an 8x7, if it's light enough.

I am not sure, I haven't weighed it yet. It feels lighter than the last one since I used a lot smaller battery on this one and put as much of the electronics in the rear as I could so I wouldn't have to add any weight in the back. I was thinking of an 8x7. It accelerates good with the 9x6 and I think I could go a little smaller and not loose too much thrust.

Also, are there any good tuned pipes that aren't too expensive that work well on the .25 FX? I thought about a mac's but it would hit the wing I think. I would need to angle it down a little to miss the wing.

take a 9x7 and cut it down to 8 1/2...
not saying it will work on your plane
but for $2.50 its worth a try

do you have access to the simitar line???

From personal experience, you might consider picking up MAS Scimitars instead of the APCs. They're a little more flexible therefore less likely to break on landing if the prop comes in contact with the ground. I went through quite a few APCs with my Wonder, but didn't break a single Scimitar.

I know what you mean about the APC props. For years I wouldn't buy one because I flew in a rough field and they wouldn't last 2 or 3 flights before I broke them. I will go look at another store for some scimitar props. They have a lot more selection on props.

Default Norvel .25 Recommended Prop

Hi

The Norvel'.15's recommend prop is 8-4, but this does not go too fast -

does anyone know of a better prop to put on so that i can get this little plane to fly faster.
