You want a strong hatch attachment because you hold the plane by the fin to launch it. An external charge jack is recomended.

Is there any video of someone launching this plane?

Here's a video of Larry Lewis flying the Outlaw and a hand launch is included:

Strykaas, just install a charge jack by the switch and there will be no need to remove the hatch.
Yeah yeah I had thought of that, but I don't like the idea. Thank you anyway.

Don't you think I can build as strong a hatch attachment with dowels and this ?

Maybe I'll change my mind when I receive the kit, but those little screws won't hold anything in some time (unless there are blind nuts behind ?).

I like to inspect the innards of my a/c, especially when high Gs are involved [&:].

I agree, before going to the field and after hard landings.

Is the anhedral new on the ARF Outlaw or has it always been that way?

Got the west engine and pipe now, and its all installed, its s nice tight fit, but atleast I know it aint coming out!

Got the rx in now as well, so the rest of the bits should be here tomorrow, only problem is, even when it is finished it is blowing a gale here so no miadens for me  you never know I might get lucky! (ever the optimist!)

I'd like to make a recommendation to many of you. If you have an engine with the needle valve hanging down on the bottom side of the airplane turn the carb around so the needle valve is up and the throttle is on the bottom. I know you'll have to reroute the throttle pushrod. Even with the skeg to protect your needle valve you run a high risk of hitting it and you'll be really pissed if you damage it.

yuk, I hadn't seen the needle valve sticking out [X(], I though it was a remote one hidden behind the engine. It WILL break.

I also got one from Chris @ Perry Ga and it to will be electrified. On 6S 100amps I will be turning an APC 6X5 at 191MPH calculated pitch speeds. It about a $500 powerplant setup which includes a Neu motor.

BTW, Chris thanx for the somkin deal for 3 headed towards Evansville IN. We'll do you proud @ SEFF...........

On the OS, the remote needle will break off too. Then you get to hang it anywhere you want

On Webra 55 engines I have pressed the needle housing out of the carb body so that I could turn the fuel in let to the rear when I needed to turn the carb around. That West 36 looks like it has the same type of carb.

Now you have.....[sm=punching.gif]

I have this same setup in an ION Hotliner that weighs almost twice the weight of my Outlaw and that model is 100+. 819 watts of pure, unadulterated brushless power. AXi 2820/10, 13x10 Graupner carbon blades with Aeronaut yoke, 77 amp Jeti Advance plus opto, ATLAS 6v BEC, Polyquest 3700mah 3s. Should be pretty sickkkkk! My all up weight is 2.86 lbs. I'm going to try two different NEU Motor setups later to get up around 200, but I will lose a lot of the performance abilities that the Webra .32 power allows, so this one will be matching that, and I'll be lighter. The NEU's will be great for crazy fast zooming and booming. Gonna get a maiden tomorrow!

Please video the flight if possible, I'm very interested in how she does with the big folder. NO way she'll do even 80mph though. Your ION probably is faster gliding than on the motor, are you radaring it in a dive? Motocalc says that combo is 65mph.

1300 watts to go 119mph... The good thing is the Outlaw flys great at all speeds.

I had my Skeeter out today ripping it up. Here's an old pic of it...

819 watts on 3 cells with that motor?
you sure that is the correct motor...or perhaps more cells?

Strykaas:

Hay little bro!! You need to get a little electric screwdriver. A few maginets may also do the trick with screws at front and rear. Just watched the flight vidio, I don't need one of these things. I dont need one of these things. I dont need one of these things. I dont need one of these thing. I need one of these things. I ordered one of these things. Gonna have to remove the Jett 35 from the Yellow Jacket, nothing else is adequate. Wonder if the 60 would go in there?
