Spark,
Yep its me, Micro Dan is the largest stocking east coast Scorpion dealer so he's on a mission to either sell or custom wind something for the Outlaw. I ended up with the Red/Wht/Blu.
What an awesome ARF build for this ship. I have had the plans for 10 years and the build has never excited me to start building. Chris was hawking these @ Perry.
Another funny thing is me and Jerry go back to competition FUN FLY days. And he ends up pitting next to me @ E-fest. Small world........
Mine will be @ SEFF along with some other hot setups. CK will be onsite with radar gun inhand. cant wait......

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
Orded 2 today, both orange and black. I'am going to build them with a friend so we'll fly them together. I already have a Diamond Dust with OS 32 SX Macs Header and mouse can. It's not the fastest one but it certainly scoots along! I'm going to use the same set up for the Outlaw, I have also used a Thunder Tiger 36 with similar results. From what I can tell the Outlaw is not ment to be a screamer but is capable of manuevers that the Diamond Dust is not, due to the rudder.

Not sure why the engine placement is designed to be on it's side, kinda looks a little ugly with the corner cut away like it is. I would have thought it woudld cause tip stalling due to the extra weight on the left side.

Sparky, would your CF cowling work with a glow engine mounted upright? Or could it be made to work with one? I plan on putting a rear exhaust engine on one sometime in the bear future and a CF cowl would be great.
Hey WTTiger, any ideas yet on if we can make a battery hatch in the rear work? Im thinking right next to the vert. stab all the way in the back. Cut out the top, drop the battery in, and make a built up balso lid with foam padding. Think that might work? I really wanna use the YS, I can't have people thinking you are better than me just bc your toys are faster.

How much thrust would you nitro guys say is developed with the piped 30+ class size of nitro motors?
My Outlaw goals are 50oz or less ready to fly with 125oz of thrust.
The best part is the motor is never gonna quit on the most extreme PYLE DRIVER.
I just sold off my last NEW JETT .30 AAC to fund this OUTLAW adventure.

A 9x6apc at 15,000 rpm puts out 70 ounces of thrust. That same prop at 17,500 like on a jett 30 puts out 91 ounces of thrust.

Mine arrived today, pictures soon
Rmenke. The Jett .35 is the answer. Don't even consider anything else.

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
Hi Everyone,
Just got back from Mac Hodges/Hodges Hobbies, I bought the last Blue Angles color scheme OutLaw ARF he had, but he still has 2 each of the other 2 color schemes left, cost $149.99.
Just a snap shot everything really looks great and especially all the hardware (all ball/links) really First Class Stuff.[sm=thumbup.gif]
No review in near time, without toot'in my horn I have 3 other OutLaws ready to go, plus a couple War birds ready for maiden flights.

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
I got mine, a quick check against a plans built one shows the same length, span, aileron depth and length, and the same anhedral. Everything looks about identical but I didn't compare fins yet though. I did check to see if they weighted a tip to offset the engine weight and they did not. You should check your plane for lateral balance before flying, having it balanced makes a difference.

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
I'm lovin my Outlaw so far. My os 32 is about broke-in and I'm ready for the mac pipe. Can I put the pressure fitting on the back of the crankcase or does it have to go on the pipe?
Has anyone described just how to do a wad or piledriver? If so, can you point me there?
Thanks,
griff

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
If you use a crack case tap you will probally need a kilne regulator and a check valve to keep rhe pressure in the tank stablile.
my piledriver is realy simple!
Point the Outlaw in a veritle dive down at full power and simplly dont pull out!!
just kidding!!

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
Thanks Sparky,
So your saying it's best to put it on the pipe?
I'm a little suprised that Mac didn't include a fitting and didn't mention anything about mounting one.
Any good tips on best way to attach it? JB weld, solder, etc...?

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
It's best to put the pressure fitting on the apex, right where the pipe reaches it's biggest diameter. I like to use the Macs 90 degree fitting. Just guide the stud in from the inside on a length of wire and run the jam nut down on the outside than thead the 90 on. I use red loctite on both parts and never had a problem. Do a dry run first, if the jam nut locks early, your screwed. For the price he charges for a pipe you'd think he'd just include it.

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
personally i like the regulator better...more stable at all RMP, all be it more costly...
could always use a regulated pump insteay..like perry ossilating pump.....
