Default That was scary!

I took my DD out to the field Sunday. It scared the hell out of me. Normally it flies beautifully, easy to launch, fly, and land. It is extremely light with an OS 32SX mounted on it.
The first flight my friend held it up, I gave it full power and added a little up elevator, and he let go. Same as always. This time however it dove straight into the ground!

We checked it out. Had some scratches on the covering, but no major damage. We patched the covering and tried again. Take off was fine. It flew around just as great as normal. I came in on a high speed pass over the runway at about 6 meters. Suddenly it did a 100% dive and headed straight for the ground. I cut power and added full down elevator and managed to complete an outside loop within half a meter of the ground, leveled it out and landed.

I fell to my knees and couldn't walk for a minute or so. What a blast, but I'm not going to fly the DD again till I can figure out what was happening.

Wow... Those DD's must be pretty manouverable...

Not even my Magic 3D kan pull a 5,5 meter loop from a highspeed pass (not with the wing remaining attached to the fuse anyway), and my Magnum will probably use 150-200 meters for the same stunt... My Hirobo Sceadu won't have much problems with it, but then again, it can do a loop without changing altitude and direction of flight...

Yes, they are amazingly maneuverable. The most maneuverable plane I own with the exception of my pbf. The wing loading on the DD with an OS 32SX is unbelievably low.

No risk of the wing coming un-attached of course.
