I like the time to build. But right now I am stiff with a back ache through shovelling snow.

This winter in the Mid West has been pretty mild... I have accually flown 3 times since Christmas. That's pretty unheard of around here... for me anyway.

But, yeah... I have enough projects to keep me bussy this winter and when the nice days come, I'll have a fleet worth bragging about....

The G4 is really getting a work out too....

NJ sucks also in the winter..(well even in the summer LOL) One day its 20 degrees and the ground is frozen then the next week we get 40 degree days that
melts the frozen runway and makes it all mud.It is a good building time , and in my club alot of us have G3 so we have flight nights on the computer witch is fun. I think I have flown a total of 5 times since christmas

I'm waiting for the Superbowl to start. I just got down off the roof replacing
1 and 1/2 bundles of shingles that blew off the roof this morning. The wind
blowing 80-90 mph. I keep a few bundles of shingles in stock at all times. The
winds can get nasty any time of year up here in the high desert when a storm
comes into So. Cal.

This is just one bunch of shingles, just the way they landed in the front yard. [:@]

I've lived in Georgia and North Carolina, and I'll take our Minnesota weather hands down. I didn't want to leave air conditioning for 6 months down there.

I did like San Diego weather, I could get use to that

SJ:

Before I sell out here, need to know who that is and what her prefferences may be. If mature men (very) give her my phone number. FBD: Its not like you did not know the wind blows a bunch down there with fires burning the area down every few years, or just blowing things away. This summer, beaf up your trusses and install lt wt. tile roof, but nail down if possible. It will be there long after you has left for the big sky.

What you are not fessing up to is the ability to walk out the back door and fly your little electrics in the yard about 5 of every 10 days. You consider 40% too cold to go outside. Need to spend some time in Alaska or Montanna and learn to appreciate our California weather between the fires, earthquakes and Santa Anna winds and illegals.
ENJOY

Even in this cold, I can step out of my garage and fly electrics in the cul-de-sac most days, as long as the wind is down. 5 minutes in the air is plenty for me.

There are times that I wished I still lived in that sprawling ashtray of humanity down South of here, but after every visit I'm reminded of why I like it up here more.
Now up until about 35 years ago, the San Diego area was the best kept secret in the USA for places to live, then it became a boomtown.

Where I am at is a better secret than SoCal IMO.
The wind gets a little rough for flying from March into June but there are some nice days in there. Saturday was one of them. Flew till dark.
Check out the pic of our field and do the panorama thing.

C4F. Those girls aint local, just thought I would let you know. Milford girls are built a little more for pullin if you catch my drift.[8D]

Yep, lots of room and no neighbors forever. It's an old landfill. Kinda sucks when you lose a plane though, you need kevlar for the briars and rappeling gear. The club is filled with some really nice members too...well until I joined that is.[8D]
This is where we want to do our speed rally this summer.

SJ, Let me know when you go out of town for work and the beach needs tending.[sm=tongue_smile.gif]

One of my clearest memories from when I lived in Apple Valley (near Dave) was watching someone's 10'x10' metal storage shed ROLL down the street like a big tumbleweed. [sm=what_smile.gif]

It's 50ish and a bit windy here today. Supposed to be 60ish and calm later this week. I can see a couple long lunches in my future.

You have to know how to go fast on the snow....

You have to merge your street rod with a snowmobile!!!

the hotter the better for me. i don't even like 35 degree weather. that snow mobile/ street rod would go south until the skis wore off. then someone could have for a bus ticket even further south.
