The Whiplash is painted, and now I get to put the fun stuff in.

How are you guys routing the Antenna??? I really don't want 2 feet of antenna hanging off the back of the plane, and I haven't had much luck with Deans antennas.

Would it be possible to run the antenna in a tube forward around the fuel tank, and then back along the tail???

Any other ideas?

If you look inside the radio compartment, there is a 6MM tube inside, this is where you thread your antenna.

Simply insert the antenna end, and push it in until it stops..
It's long enough to accept the entire antenna length.

I shooved the antenna as far into the tube as it would go, and I still got about 12" left. Is it ok just to leave it in radio compartment??

This thing is looking good, I can't wait to fly it next Saturday.

It should go all the way, some people have had this same issue, I think its because of the bend we put at the end of the tube to keep it all in the wing.. see if you can find a stiff wire to fit in the tube and try running it through, or it could be that the antenna has lots of bends in it, so try and make the antenna as straight as you can, and spray a little PAM or light oil on it to help it slip through.. if all else fails, leave the rest in the compartment but dont loop it, route it in the compartment in such a way that it follows the outside walls of the compartment wall and doesnt cross over any servo leads... in a word, isolate it from any possible interference from other leads...

The pam did the trick.

I added a few decals, and its getting close.

Having a little problem with the Servo Arms. The longest arms I have are too short to clear the Fins. I have the Servos mounted as far outboard as I can with the arms toward the nose, still it barely touches the tail with the long arms.

I'm going to see if I can find something longer at the hobby store tommorrow. The Servos are Hitec 605s, with 4/40 hardware in Carbon Fiber pushrods.

1.5" anodized aluminum arms are perfect do you have the sullivan 555 or 557 horns?

Is the sullivan numbers you mentioned the 1.5" aluminum ones?

I just had some extra Dubro Heavy duty nylon arms, I'll check for the aluminum ones tommorrow.
