Default Devil Dart

This is my latest project. I'm just starting to cut wood tonight, more pics to come later.

Thanks to those of you who helped me figure out TurboCad and get the plans printed.

Got the parts cut and started building. Sure would be nice if I had a laser cutter...

Designed for .32-.46 class engines, 32" span, airfoil is a modification of a naca 0006, spars are fiberglass.

Looks like you got the hard part done. Is that a dowel for a leading edge?

It's 1/4" square balsa. I took these pics in pretty low resolution, so it does kinda look like a dowel.

Got a bit of the sheeting done, and the warp I was building in has come out now.

Thanks. Every delta I've built is just about this easy. Any decent builder could frame the Diamond Dust in an evening, and this one is taking just a bit longer for me because of the sheeting.

That and the cutting of parts and the obligatory pondering 'could I do that better?'
I've got a page and a half of notes on what to change for the second one.

More work done. I'm shaping the ailerons next, then finishing out the radio compartment before covering.

Everything is ready for covering, but I don't have as much Monokote as I thought. It'll have to wait until after the Perry swap meet to get covered.

After far too much lolly-gagging and spending more time flying than building, I've got her covered.

Pics below, and don't worry about the painter's tape holding it together. It makes it go faster.

LD, I must have slept through the beginning of this thread. Your plane looks fantastic. Hope you wear a couple of engines out flying it!

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm hoping to get it in the air in the next couple weeks, but I'm breaking my neck in class every day right now so models are second class priorities.

looks great would love to have one of those!!
If it flys well, I've got a couple more minor revisions to do to the plans and then I'd be glad to email the cad files to you.
