Default World Models Barbera Jean

Hi all,

I have just bought A new Barbera Jean. It is a 40 size pylon plane like Nemesis but a bit smaller.

In turkey we made a limitation to the engines so we can only use Webra 55 gt or Os 55 ax.

So which engine to choose and which prop to swing.

I need some advices, because I am a newbie in pylon.

Thank you.

I was actually thinking about buying this plane, or her sister - nemesis.

I currently fly my prop-jet (Phoenix F20) with a 55AX turning the APC 9,5x8N Pylon prop @ 15400 rpm stock muffler - and it really likes to unload even more scream once in the air.

But If given the chance, I would go with the Webra - if you can get it at a reasonable price (which I couldnt).

dtalican:

I raced a Webra 55, apc 10 X 10, (yessss 10 X 10) powermaster 15%, all last season against identical airframes & K&B 48 screamer, OS 55, and Jett 60LX, undefeated. Only engine that did not go down two laps was the Nephew's Jett. Jett had a little more down the streight, Webra pulled in the corners like the beast it is. Yes, am a better pilot than Nephew, but not that much on the other guys, if anything. Start ups, and flight running have been flawless. Will run it again the start of this season just to see what the guys have created over the winter, and will only go to my super duper Jett 60 LX scary fast if needed. You need the Jett Stream pipe/muffler, Nelson second choice, to make her scream more. Don't know what exactly the ground or air rpms are, dont care. Anything that willl pull a 10 X 10 like it does is amazing. Does run in the 19's. Do not lean on the needle. Once she gets on the pipe clean, leave it there for the first flight, will be rich, but will unwind like oh my god!! Keep it on the rich side, doubt if anyone else out there will give you a problem other than another Webera 55 or Jett 60LX. Let me know how bad you kill the gang!! ENJOY

Oh, almost forgot. You gotta break this thing in correctly or performance will suffer. Start with 10 X 6 and follow the instructions on the Jett engineering web site for breakin. If you don't run a gallon at least through her, you risk bad things.
After one full season, mine is still on top and tight.

Do I understand you to say your Webra 55 is turning 19,000RPM with a 10x10 prop?

Thanks

Thank you guys for all the comments.

I think the webra is the engine to choose. And also it seems I need to buy a Dubb jet or Ultrathrust muffler. The ideal prop is it seem around Apc 10*9.

Thank you for all the comments and experiences you wrote.

I will keep you post pictures soon.

I think he was talking about lap times, not RPM. As in a 1:19 race time or a 19 second laptime.

Or maybe it turns 19K RPM...

Flip the numbers around LOL
I like the 9X10 on the Webra (mid range rpm engine) and the 10X9 on the OS 55 AX (lower rpm engine).
