Hi,
You can order at speed models.nl.
First I will build the proto but I know how it flies because I used
the airfoils from an earlier design.
The root is 9% and the wingtip is 8% both semi.
The model will fly on rails, stable and depending on the used engine fast.
With an YS 45 it will be a sportmodel, with a Dub Jett FAI a racer.
You can use a muffled tuned pipe or an open tuned pipe.
An open pipe will give more power.
Best regards,
Look.

Hi,
Thank you.
This morning I am making the second part of the belly pan mold.
I will show some pictures end of the day.
Shipping costs to USA are 33.00 euro.
On this thread I want to show the building of the complete model.
The plug is CNC made. The splitting plate and parts are cnc made.
On the plug I have used a very hard 2K paint which can be polished.
Like Coddington uses for his Hot Rods.
All parts for the kit will be cnc cut. The underside of the wing is drawn in cad
and the complete wing will be cnc cut for the servo, wingspar, aileron and retracts.
I will make pictures of that too and show you. All wood parts are excellent quality plywood.
You will get all the information you need to build the model.
Now the first thick coat of epoxy molding stuff has to dry for an hour.
So I can start cutting the glasscloth and carbon roovings.
Tomorrow I will start with the fuse mold. The splitting plate is ready and painted and the mold insert parts are ready for molding too.
The splitting plate is made with straight sides and corners to attach the standing sides so the thick mold epoxy does not run off.
Best regards.

Wow very cool! Any way to get a preorder list going? I would be putting an E-power system in it and shoot for 200+. Fusalage looks quite roomy for batteries!

RE: new design: Strega 45
Hi,
Thanks !
That is a good suggestion starting with a pre order list.
Please contact me. In the fuse there is enough room for batteries.
We have used the same airfoils on a smaller model for a 21 engine
and on batteries flying was great.
Here are the last two pictures of the belly pan mold.
That mold is ready now. After four days I can split them and sand the edges with 80 gritt with a machine.
First I will polish the inside, 5x release agent and the first belly pan can be made.
Tomorrow I will start with the fuse mold.

RE: new design: Strega 45
First I will start with 5x release agent (wax), the cutting of the side walls with the cnc router.
A last layer of release agent and mounting of the side walls
Mounting the iron hardware for the bolts and pins. These will be glued on the splitting plate with ZAP pink.
Tomorrow morning I can start with the thick first layer of grey mold epoxy and the layers of glasscloth, cotton and chopped strands.
Wenn the glasscloth has dried for several hours a last coat of thick gelcoat on top to keeps the stuff in balance.
After four days the other side can be done after sanding the sides with 80 gritt.

RE: new design: Strega 45
Thanks, Tom !
I can not wait to build my model to fly.
I will build two models: one with an OS 46 DF with a muffled tuned pipe and an open pipe
and the second one with the fastest OPS pylon/ speed maybe a 10cc with an open pipe.
Best regards,
Look.
