My Doppler program showed it at 135 mph.

I did some additional Doppler checks and the best I could come up with was 142 mph. I compared it to a f3d video I have that looked faster and Doppler had it at 160+ mph. I did notice the Doppler sound lines went off the top and bottom of the chart at an angle that is a little unusual.

Edit - I usually wait for someone to ask for a Doppler check but with the title of this thread I could not resist. Below is a Doppler check of the video listed above. I do not know what type of airplane it is. Some assume it is a Q40 but I chose not to assume anything. I have been using Doppler for some time to determine speed of RC aircraft and it has been varified many times with radar and other methods. This reading was very easy to read but I guess it could be wrong. I also came up with 25,000+ rpm, is that about right for this engine?

Here is the f3d video to compare Doppler and just watching. To me it seems noticably faster and is close to 170 mph.

The engine sounds like it's got a LOT left in it, it doesn't sound like it's unwinding anywhere near what it should, take a look at this video, these sound much healthier!

Cool vid though anyway, is that your Miss Candace?

Ecoli - Very cool vid, finally got home where no firewall is blocking me out. Looks like if you blink then your plane might be in the next zip code

Still have the Perry carb on it?

Except the rocket motor is more show than go.. but it is cool nonetheless!

For some major ME-163 fast, the QSAA rally in the mid-1980's has Jorg Vogelsang's 1/4 (?) or so models with 50lb thrust pulsejets and in-air restart capability. I have a beat up VHS copy of a VHS copy, but I still watch every now and then since it is so cool.

I think the recording microphone is way too far from the flight path to be fairly accurate...

you make a good point. I also did not like the turn so soon after the pass. The last pass from right to left was fairly close but it had a pull up right after the pass. It was a good video and my #'s are not concrete. hope I did not ruffle any feathers with my post.

Not me its a guy that flys at our field. Its a pole cat with a Nelson. I think the Doppler is probably not accurate, I am standing near the start of where he is turning and most of the flying is directly in front of the camera. I have never played with the Doppler programs but I am assuming that you need a straight fly by your position in order to get a good Doppler shift. Most of you guys are correct it doesnt look that fast in the video, it looked a lot faster in person. I had my purple Nemesis at 167 on radar and this thing looks faster.
Just thought I would post a vid of it as I think there is a lack of videos of truly fast planes.

Polecat with a Nelson sould be a solid 180 plane which is what my guestimate would be based on a video.

By the way if you want to know what fast looks like. Never seen anything look "faster" than this.

Visually to me it looks to be in the 150mph range.

Can't confirm the Doppler comments.

I've seen that footage - that is the fastest R/C jet I have ever seen too. I think (but could be wrong) this was filmed at a primarily pulsejet get together in Germany or somewhere in that part of the world. The pulsejets were fast but this was the top speed king as I recall the comments, which also claimed it was in the 300mph range.

Wayne- Did you finally get that Red Ryder BB Gun this past Christmas?

I wonder what the DF speed record is?

Aren't there some threads that say, "Delta's are not really the fastest airframe"? uh....
