Default Patriot flights

I took out both Patriots today The small one has a Jett 60 on it with an 9-8 on it and it was clocked today straight and level at 135 and the large Patriot with a Super Slug I mean Tiger with an 11-7 went 131 not to bad.I still think the smaller one with the 60 in it still has some more in it.Before we clocked it the first couple of passes seemed faster I think it was going a little lean.On the last pass it went in to a wild flutter and I backed out of it.I will tape up all the seams up everything feels tight.

I have the large xl and it seem's pitch sensitive.
Maybe the cg is a little aft and the throw's are a little high?
I thought I would enjoy it more then I have.
It is the most squirrelly plane I have ever flown.
Alway's twitching in some manner
I thought it would fly a little more graceful.
Maybe it is just me.
Anyone else?
I never get comfortable with it until the engine's off.

Wayne I would be happy to "test-fly" your Patriot at the Revver's-74 and make corrections for you. [X(]

I know you are not used to fast planes at all....

I prefer the smaller Patriot myself...Although mine is reduced to having a K&B-48 on the nose these days.

i have the both 60 size and 40 size ,, and i have to say the 40 size is the better flying bird,,, i noticed the horizontal stab on the 60 size is a few inches higher than the 40 size. kinda like the p-51 style.----------S J ,, was your patriot a kit or an ARF ?

you had flutter with the .60 and now gonna put the .90 in. better check to make sure every thing is real tight and stiff. even if its tight at the servo horns it can still flutter farther out on the surface.

I have a lot of expo (60-70%) and not much horn travels on my Patriot XL. Mine is almost as smooth as my favorite propjet, the Cermark F16. You might want to check CG to make sure you're not tail heavy.

The Patriot 40 flies good if it is set up properly. It doesn't need a lot of throw in the alerons and may need some exponential if you are moving along swiftly. The faster the Patriot flies the better it flies. If you could get it to 200mph it would fly great. Problem is it has a lot of drag.

I have to apologize to Mark5 since I gave him such a hard time about his YS powered Patriot. It is obvious that his Pat puts up some big speed numbers and I stand corrected.

So it IS faster than the 60LX powered Patriot...

I gave the the Purple Patriot guy a hard time also since he is running a Rossi-53 on his Pat.

I am Ghetto Patriot anyways with just a K&B-48/ UT Muffler on mine. My Jett tore (yes literally tore) and I just cannot justify buying a new one.
