K&B 7.5CC, Whiplash Combo
Well I was fortunate to get another K&B-7.5cc DF engine for my old beat-up Whilpash-X. This K&B has a unique looking muffler/ pipe though. Reminds me of Star Trek or something...
I ran it for a minute just to hear it.....uh.....good thing my local field does not have a sound limit!
I know this will not be a record breaker but it is a step-up for me... Now I better go back to my PM's and see what Bob told me to do with break-in.
Just thought it looked interesting enough to post here-

As i said elsewhere..I like this idea...cool looking pipe...can you post some breakin advise bob mentioned to you..so far I've got
"run it on light load prop..get it up to about 20,000 rpm( get it up to temp quick) for at least 5 minute burts
the other thing is I dont have a pipe yet..going to find out what the difference between the marine pipes and aero pipes are as theres a bit of a price difference(on Macs site) and boat motors really pull some rpm..

LOL Crazy-
Haveblue- You are putting yours in a Whip-X also? Nice!!
I need to pester Bob more since I pretty much ignore the paperwork and go with what he says....A better engine authority there is not, IMHO.
I will let you know when I know
I sure wish my Whip-X was fresh out of the box like yours....

Pretty sure it's a Macs Q500 "muffler"
It doesn't actually muffle very much...but sure looks cool huh?
I have a Newton muffler (IIRC the guy I got it from said Tommy Newton from Texas I think?) that looks a bit like a "Cherry Bomb" attached to a short fuselage top header...it reminds me of the old chambered pipes that came on certain late 60's Camaros and Vettes [8D] and only knocks 300 r.p.m. off.
Razor...I saw that engine/muffler on epay and almost bid, just because of that cool looking muffler...but I already have enough K&B stuff to last me a while...
P.S. Anybody heard of "Tommy Tigre"? Some of the K&B 6.5 heads I have have that name engraved in them.

Wow! Now if I just knew how much a KG was...
I run Hitec-645MG's (107oz @ 4.8V / 133oz @ 6V) and they work well. The centering is not the best but I need the muscle.
I am having a hard time getting it to run with the pump- It is supposed to be preset at the factory but it did not fire for me....I bypassed the pump and she started pretty quick-

15kg= 208oz@6volt these aren't the best but they are fast, I think .06 sec for 60 degrees
if memory serves me right, i think someone told me to by-pass the pump, and or remove it and put in a normal backplate.. pity these aren't drum induction engines
