Replace the stock balsa spars with sommit a bit harder, sheet the rear section inbetween the fins and your good to go, make sure when you build you can get the gear as far back as possible, maybe to the extent of wing mounted servos far back so the fuz is emptier to get more at the back. extend the firewall back, rather than the nose forward. People use 36's on these thigns so dont worry, i have a 21 on a standard kit and its great

Default shrike mods

In addition to the previously mentions mods be sure to beef up the trailing edges where the hinges go. Mine didn't have enough meat to grab hold of causing a beautifully executed 120mph+ barrel roll into the ground.

The only thing I would change about my next 10 size shrike would to go with a 32SX over the 25fsr I had. I see everyone talking about all these mods they did and I dont see the point. All I did was sheet the whole wing and stab with 1/16 balsa. I cut the pieces to fit the whole wing and tail are as one sheet of sheeting. And yes, 120 or so is easy with a good 25 on a shirke.

And just so everyone knows, a shrike will not beat a cluster of tip top tree limbs at a full throttle pass through them. Oh, neither will some of the servos, receiver, and carb. Atleast it didnt for me.

I have one with a .25 and one with an OS 32SX. Go with the 32. I don't even fly mine with the 25 on it anymore.

Default Shrike .10

I saw a guy fly a .10 with a .25 at our winter fly and it was extreme. It was fasinating to watch. Another guy had the same plane with a .15 and it was lame. I asked about beefing up the plane and everything that was suggested above was completed on this flyer's plane. Go bigger and beef it up.
