Cermark F-20 .40 size- Os .61?
Can the .40 size F 20 handle an OS.61?
I have a gap with the engines I own, between Os .40 FP and Os .61 FX
I dont' really want to buy a .50 or a hot .46, so what do you think about a bigger power plant?
I'm sure it will be tough to balance, but I like the way my 61 is running and I really feel like a speed addict !
What do you think!

Hot Brick....
IMO....once you balance that thing with a .61 (especially if you add retracts) it will weigh a ton and be a hand full to land. A member at my club uses a rossi 45 with tuned pipe, retracts, and a ton of weight in the rear for balance. And everytime he comes in to land, he's breakin' a sweat because it literally begans to fall out of air. It must weigh about 7lbs. which is way too heavy for a plane with a 48" wing. But it does fly nice....otherwise....With a .46 and macs mini-pipe and no retracts I'm about 4.5lbs....no snappy landings....but what the hey...give it a shot if you wish..

I have a Cermark .40 F-20, with a long pipe Rossi 45 in
it. I have a flat pack battery mounted up against the rear bulkhead, at the tail cone to balance it.
If you don't want to spring for a new motor....get a pipe
for your .40, prop it down....and run the snot out of it.
I'm not sure if you could cram the .61 in it....but I think you
will have more fun with it....with the .40. If you really want
it to haul....you'll have to get a high perf. motor....
Dave.

F-20 with a .61?
What if I set up the ailerons with "crow" mixing and then put that battery pack way in the back?
I think I can fly a small wing and high approach speeds if I have a good crow "dirty" approach profile.
For me the key will be getting it down smooth with no bounces and early enough for the grass to kill the landing speed.
I'm psyched, it's going to be here in three days!
see you at the field!

Hmm
Do what I do- Trade the 61 for a fast 40-50!
Rossi/Powerhouse 45-53
YS-45
MVVS-49
K&B Screamin' 48
I have an ASP (OS/Magnum clone..) with a Tower Pipe in my Patriot and it scoots!
Put your 61 in the swap shop and if you get a good trade offer take it, if not no harm done-
The 61 more than likely won't turn the RRR's needed for all out speed, the frame gets soggy-wet (heavy)
Think light, low-drag, high rpm's
Keep us posted! I still wish I had one of those, especially after seeing Super Daves!
