Default Patriot And Royal 46?

IVE GOT THIS SETUP NOW AND IM CURRENTLY GETTING 12500 RPM WITH A 10X6 PROP. MY QUESTION IS THAT ENOUGH TO FLY THIS PLANE WELL? I SEE OTHERS GETTING AROUND 15000 OR MORE OUT OF THEIR SETUPS. IF ITS NOT I MAY TRY GETTING ANOTHER 46.. ANYONE HAVE ANY COMMENTS? IF THATS NOT A GOOD RPM WHATS A 46 THAT WILL WORK NICELY ON IT.. I DONT NEED A HIGH DOLLAR ENGINE EITHER.. JUST ONE TO GO AND HAVE FUN WITH.. THAnks

Default It will work-

The Patriot I bought off here has an ASP-46 that runs about 13k with a Tower Muffler and it flies great! I am gonna try the 10x7 for kicks and maybe a 9x8 too-

I am gonna either pipe it or run my new Rossi-45 in it for better performance ...

The 46 will get you going but these would work better:

Jett-50
YS-45
MVVS-49
Webra-50
Rossi/Powerhouse 45/53

You said you don't need high $$ engines so the Rossi and MVVS are about $130-

You can pipe a OS-46FX but between the engine and pipe- you could buy a faster engine-

I always say- run what you got... Then you can upgrade later-

Dunno if this helps

Default Royal Patriot

Yes the Royal will fly it-they have decent torque if not high RPM

just give yourself a bit more runway on takeoff.

Want cheap power? Try the Tower 46 (yeah, yeah I know!)

Or get an Evolution (46?) from Horizon & remove the training wheels-seen these things pull hard with a real prop.

Wanna $pend a little more? A Novarossi 50 will whip the stink
out of most of the engines above-almost keep up with the Jett
at half the price.

Before any of this, try a better pipe and smaller diameter prop
like a tower muffler with a 9x7 or 9.5x7 apc
Run what you Brung!...

Default ya..

Good advice there ya.

For the price the Tower is supposed to have some revvs-

Windwalker: Is the Novarossi quicker (again RPM's) than those I listed? I have always wanted to try one of those

Keep us posted,
james
