Default Clipped Wing Diamond Dust ARF

Here is a pic on my new Delta.
Engine: MVVS GRRT .40 cu
Weight: ~2 1/4 pounds
The ARF came with a nice storage bag as well.

Haven't flown it yet.

how about some detail pics so we can see the differences between the clipped wing and the stand version in the leading edge and the wing tips?

Default First flight on Clipped Wing

Had first flight today.
MVVS throttle barrel locked at 3/4 throttle on takeoff. Interesting 7-8 minutes of flight before tank emptied.
The roll rate was insane. I need to reduce the throws a bit.
Also, I need to keep this plane as close as possible at those speeds. Disappears quickly.
Launch was very fast at 3/4 throttle.

Also had some glitch problems that almost dusted my dust.
I had a horseshoe in the right place, since I recovered quickly after.

I noticed after I landed the pipe header was loose. This might have been the source of the interference. ?? Can anyone confirm this to be a cause?

I am using a berg 5 DSP RX. Passed range check at ~85feet with collapsed antenna on TX..

I like this plane, but definitely small for a beginner speedster.

I won't make an speed claims. Just damn fast in my books.
Flared nice for landing.

Metal to metal vibration (like your header) will cause RF interference for sure, even having your pipe to close to the header where they can rub will cause it. Also, I use JR equipment, not sure what Berg is, but on my Planes, if I can't get glitch free at 100 paces (about 300 feet) with antenna collapsed I go through the airplane again to figure out why.

Also, isn't there a fair bit of carbon fiber in the dust? if so, where is your antenna routed? Carbon fiber will create some funny interference often antenna's should be kept as far from carbon fiber as possible. I had a friend who built a 33% Extra 300 and needed a shaft to run his antenna down inside the airplane, he was out of plastic golden rod so he used a carbon rod, we couldn't understand why it was constant glitches on the ground, I suggested we try a new receiver and then saw the carbon sheath. Replaced it with a regular goldenrod and all the problems went away

Isn't that Berg a single conversion receiver? You might want to swap it out for something better....

Default RX

So far, knock on wood, I've had nothing but great performance with the FMA Quantums in my Dust and Whiplash. Not a single glitch.

Hello

The Berg 5 is one of the best mini Rx's on the market. Just about everyone I know that flys high preformance micro helicopters(not whimpy ones but the ones that flip and flop, like mine) uses the Berg because of its solid preformance.

Here is more info on this Rx.
