RE: KMP FlyCat 90
Amen, Mike, same sort of crash here
Dead stick, gliding in, into the wind, was trying to keep it slow, so as not to rip gear out, Got too slow, it tip stalled did a wing over & went in nose first..
I, like you, doubt if I'll rebuild it.. fuse cracked up pretty good, nothing else damaged too bad..

Not quite the same, I did not get a chance to try the glide, the thing just stopped and went straight into the flat spin, no nose drop, no tip stalling, no wing over absolutly flat down to the ground, no damage to the fus, just a bit too the wings where the UC punched upwards, but very minor, will have to look for a replacement as I invested about £300.00 in the pusher engine, perhaps a Bobcat type would be better, I have a Falcon 120 which I was beefing up for jet use, perhaps I will just use that airframe instead.

RE: KMP FlyCat 90
hi I have just had my maiden flight with the flycat 90 from ashford models , on take of it stick,s to the ground like its on velcro then it shot up brill ,no trim needed at all it flew great it was just a bit noisy I have a jen 91 with a 3 blade 12x6 ,I have changed this for a 14x7 and have removed the rudder as not much needed for speed ,as for landing easy velcro again ,I had the C.Of.G at 10 inch with a full tank ,and the fuel tank sat as normal with clunk at the back ,Ill fly it sunday and post what its like.

OK I thought as you bought the flycat from Ashford Models you may have been in Kent, shame it would have been good to see two of these in the air together.

RE: KMP FlyCat 90
HI, just order this kit as nitro models has it on sale for $100. They call it 60" wingspan and flying cat 90, it is the same thing? I have an OS 91 I will probably start for power, but would like to use electric motor or EDF in the future. I have retracts I hope to install, but would like to get a real CG number from people that have flown it. A measurement maybe from the firewall forward to CG on underside of fuselage? ...or from wing root either down leading edge or straight back along fuse/wing joint? Also is the stabilizer strong enough to go fast? are the wing tubes strong enough to handle hi "G" turns/pullouts?
thanks,
Caleb
