Default question about cleanning engines with Antifreeze

I heard the best way to clean off the residue from engine was using antifreeze. I seen how good it works and I am going to try this to get my engine clean.

I have a half a bottle in my shed but it is the new type and it is red instead of the usual green color. Will the red stuff work or just the green? Anyone try it with the newer type?

I used the red stuff to clean my OS engine, and it worked like a charm.
