Bob Dively YF-17 Prop Jet Input Needed
Hi Guys,
I am always looking for something fast and different. I was on the auction site and found a Bob Dively 43" YF-17 prop jet kit. Does anyone know about these. They mentioned they had one with a HP40 that did 120+ but would recommend a Jett 46.
Let me know your thoughts, it is real cheap right now. Foam wings, bult up fuse and tail it looks like from the plans.
Happy Holidays,
David

Jett 50 or .60 unless you have the Jett .46.
Also I believe this is a pusher prop kit...
1) On glow power you have limited pusher prop selection
2) Possible prop strikes on rotation.
3) Muffler pointing up wind.
4) Getting CG correct may be a problem.'
Should be a LOT OF FUN
with ebarf bids start and stay low until the last hour and some cases last 5 minutes.
Also like the economy the Auction sale prices on are down.
retract options??
note: if you go electric you will not need a pusher prop nor have the exaust problems.

RE: Bob Dively YF-17 Prop Jet Input Needed
Hi Dave,
I would grab that kit, I had one about 10 years ago, flew great. I had a Clarence Lee K&B 7.5 in it. You have to make sure to use a light engine if you are going to do it as a pusher. If it were me, I would do a redesign and move the engine to the front. The basic plane flies great, and with a little work you could make it fantastic. If you want email me and I will give you some pointers. You won't be sorry if you get it.
I will tell you, I did get rid of the vaccum form intakes and made mine out of balsa, worked better. This would be a great kit if someone would bring it out again. When was the last time you saw a YF-17 down at your field.
