Default Newbie looking for some speedie... advice, please!

I usually like to fly F3A, but lately, thereĀ“s some need for speed in my blood!

IĀ“m planning to use an almost new 25FX with a MACS pipe I have. I donĀ“t want something weird for my debut, so what do you recommend?

A scaled down Viper?
A delta?

IĀ“ve never used a pipe before, not even tuned one... but I want to use this one. Also:

Is there any recommended mod to be done to the engine?

Tnx.

Beta ... the SIG Wonder will be good stuff, remember to reinforce the firewall. As for your pipe you need to 'tune' it accordingly to suit the engine/prop. Here's a guide on how to ... [link=http://www.macspro.com/tuning.asp]Tuning the System[/link]

My experience with this engine in various airframes has taken me not much higher than 110. Clipping the wings on a Q500 isn't the answer either. A buddy of mine clipped 11" off each tip of a Predator and only got a squirrely airplane without the expected speed gain, thats with a .40.

I really like the .25FX a lot but to go really fast you might need to think about a diffrent engine. 16500 and an 8X6 seems to be the sweet spot.

It's a good motor, not as fast as a .32 but good. A Extreme Outlaw would be a good start or a Diamond Dust. That or one of the Q planes... Also the Wonder or Shrike... If it was me and a first go fast I'd say the Outlaw, it has a wide speed envelope and the new ARF is real nice.
