You need to go to Slomo777 and ask the question. He seems to be very up on fan motors being one of the best German high speed artists. He lists all of the fan motors on the Alley Cat thread, says the K & B is a little puney on power, but you have it, so turn it up. I would start with the a apc 12 or 11 X 10 and cut down to 10.5 X 10 and try for 20K. Prop given is conservatilve by a bunch. Let the Bergmistger guide you! Let me know how this thing does, know of one for sale!

7.5 is not much over the K&B 6.5 pylon motor. Neither is going to turn a 10.5 x 10, to suggest such use just shows lack of experience. You should try a APC quickie prop or two which you can cut down to 8 1/4" - 8 3/8" diameter. Try pitch in the range of 7 to 8, and shoot for 21K to 22K rpm on ground.

The exhaust system makes a difference. If you're using the long tuned pipe that most DF engines come with, you may get a little more out of it. The props that HighPlains suggests will work, or you might go up to an APC 9 x 8 sport prop (wear safety glasses). If you're doing pretend Formula 1 racing with the open extractor and higher nitro, go with HighPlains' numbers (and wear earplugs). In either case, keep it on the rich side for longevity.

I would recomend trying a 8.25x8.5 , Mine screamed with a Rossi Q500. Cant remember the R's But it was fast as hell, and A Quickly dissapearing airplane, Even streight up !! In a Low pass coming out of a dive over the runway a visiting cop clocked mine at 206 MPH, on a low pass over the Runway.. It's definaty a Plane for the more advanced pilots. I Miss it, It's dust now!! But got a nother one now, Half done but don't know if my heart can take a nother one!! Im a little older now and probably not as fast with the fingers!! Good Luck Ron

Oh!! By the way it pulled real strong with this prop in the tight turns too.. God, I loved watching that wing flex when hitting those tight G turns and it also would do almost any stunt, with enough throw on the controll surfaces. A great airplane for those with Big BS.
